Le Moulin

The general setting is unusual, an old mill with beautiful renovation work. We chose Riad le Moulin for its luxury, comfort and calm... Three characteristics highlighted many times on the website. Confident, we booked a suite for 2 nights. When we arrived, the owner of the place quickly greeted my partner (not me) while telling the person who was in charge of showing us our suite that he had to hurry up to take care of the other customers. This is not quite the kind of welcome we were used to in Morocco. We understand that there are other customers, it's normal but there is a way of saying it (was it necessary to say it in front of us?) Concerning the suite in fact it is really spacious and the general atmosphere of the bathroom and bedroom are pleasant. Unfortunately we are far from the luxury and comfort advertised. 1. No pressure in the shower, we tested the bath to compensate, ditto... 2. The hand soap in the bathroom is a soap (push style) purchased from the "local merchant", made of plastic, flash blue color. 3. the trash can is a wicker basket covered with a large blue plastic bag (recyclable style), pouf in the middle of the bathroom, without a lid.... 4. The lights in the rooms did not all work , we never managed to find the ceiling light and a bedside lamp was missing.... In short, it was sorely lacking in attention to detail (which we expect for this style of accommodation) The bed was comfortable and quite spacious. It seemed that cleaning had not been done from one day to the next during our stay (no new towel, no refill of shower gel, shampoo, etc.)... Too bad. Access to the suite goes through the private terrace... Too bad it is not made clear to the people who stay/eat and drink in the Riad that the terraces are private, because what was my surprise when in the bathroom I I find myself face to face with people taking photos on the terrace. (A little annoying!) That said, the glass doors are very pretty! Big disappointment regarding the calm.... In the evening there is a lot of traffic because people who are not staying on site can come and have a drink or eat, so there is a lot of coming and going. There is lounge-style "mood" music that plays until 10:30 p.m.... We were curious to eat there, the breakfast is nice, typical, good and quite plentiful. For the evening meal you must book in advance if you want a typically Moroccan dish, something we did before leaving for a walk for the morning & afternoon. Disappointment when in the end we were told at the end of the afternoon that the desired dish was not available... What is the point of reserving and warning in advance? Why didn't you warn us? We had no choice but to have a European dish....
