Room was cramped, felt like a travel lodge bolted to a nice old building. The curtains did not block much light, the pole being very wonky. The bathroom was not of a very good standard. For the price we expected more than just a basic stay.
Breakfast service was unusual to say the least - we arrived early to the restaurant and asked if it would be OK. The waiter responded with "well, I can hardly kick you out can I?".

The scenery is the real highlight of this hotel. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Staff service at the hotel was also excellent. The room was comfortable with decent amenities (e.g. bath and body products) but it was also lacking in some ways (e.g. no fridge, tissues or AC). The restaurant food was average. I slept well and would stay again.

Site is wonderful. Great location if you wish to take the ferry to Islay. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Quiet location, ideal for couples

Un accueil sympathique et professionnel, une chambre impeccable avec vue sur le lac. Le restaurant est très bien avec un choix plus que suffisant et la aussi une superbe vue. Le service est lui aussi très sympathique Mention pour le barman qu saura vous faire apprécier un des nombreux single malts qu’il propose. Un établissement que je recommande vivement pour la qualité et l’accueil chaleureux de tout le personnel

Stayed in a principal room which was beautiful. Had the best sleep in the comfiest bed. The hotel is so doggy friendly, every member of staff made a total fuss of my little border terrier (who loved the sausage for brekkie in the morning!) After a day of traveling, ended up getting room service and the food was very good. Would recommend a stay in the lovely Stonefield Castle Hotel for a little bit of luxury.

Where do I start!!!!!! The castle was amazing. The living, drawing and library rooms were beautiful! The bar and restaurant were lovely! Our rooms were next to each other with stunning views….very comfortable! The staff……the best! From Anne the GM to Leslie and Sunny in the restaurant, so very friendly and nice! They were top notch and the breakfast/dinners were delicious! Leslie and Sunny were the highlight of our stay. It was hard to say goodbye but we had more adventures in Scotland to see. If I could give 10 stars I would! We will be back!!!

Excellent, beautiful hotel. The staff were fabulous, so friendly and professional. Very welcoming, room was fabulous, so clean and the food was gorgeous. As I am a gluten free and vegetarian, it can be difficult to eat, but the staff and kitchen catered so well for me. My husband and I will definitely be back!

Staff were very friendly and the food was of high quality. However, the interior of the building is very tired and less than adequately clean. The paths down to the waterfront badly need maintenance. And there was the West Coast midge in swarms. Over-priced for what it offered
