Since it was a Saturday night and it was expensive in Taipei, I stayed in the Taoyuan area for the first time. The conclusion is that it is definitely a good choice, if it's around 5,500 yen...
It is about a 15-minute walk from MRT Laoxi Street, so I recommend using Uber taxis. So why is it definitely a good choice? Because you can get to the hotel from Taipei Station (1818, every 20 minutes) or Shilin Market (2022, every 30 minutes) with a single bus. I didn't use it this time, but I would like to use it next time.
As for the hotel facilities, the room was spacious and comfortable as shown in the photo. The reason why the facilities and amenities are rated as 4 is that there are only two toilet/shower booths on the floor, and each booth is small. Even if you just want to use the toilet, if someone is using the shower, you will have to wait until they finish.

We ordered a triple bed room. The room was super big and so was the toilet. The toilet comes with a bath tub and one can literally play mahjong inside the toilet space. The rooms are clean and new and nice but the hotel doesn't provide any amenities like tooth brush etc. Shampoo and body wash are provided, so are bath room slippers. The receptionists and team are well trained and the lobby space is nice. Free snacks and drinks are available at the lobby.
