Bay Palace Mazzarò

The structure is a bit dated, the room and bathroom are clean but definitely need renovation, however the view from the small terrace of the room is beautiful and overshadows everything else! The breakfast is good and varied but they could also include some typical local products. The hotel staff is very courteous, helpful and attentive to solving any problem that may arise during the stay. The only negative aspect, unfortunately, is due to the difficulty of accessing the hotel entrance and the very few paid parking spaces inside the structure, which are also located on a very steep and uncomfortable hill and are only by reservation. Outside the hotel, always paid, (rather expensive I would say, €30 per day for the month of August) it is possible to park about 600 meters away (they say) but in reality, from the hotel to the parking space, the distance calculated on foot with the smartphone was over 1 km.

Huge, welcoming and clean room; very kind staff. The room had a small balcony from which you could enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay. The structure is huge and full of potential. Unfortunately, compared to the type of structure, the experience was not as hoped. Parking is non-existent, we left the car at the affiliated parking lot which is quite far on foot and expensive. Access to the structure by car even just to leave the suitcases is difficult due to the slope of the entrance road which is limited to a minimum by the few cars that park inside the hotel. The swimming pool closes at 6pm, so for those who also want to go on an excursion and visit the area it becomes inaccessible.. that would be exactly the time to keep it open at least until 8pm! Breakfast varied but a little limited and without any trace of some typical products.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte in questo hotel (menomale direi), la reception è gentile e disponibile, ci avevano detto che c’era il parcheggio su prenotazione ma solo dopo averci fatto prenotare ci hanno detto che erano pieni, arrivati lì scopriamo che il loro “parcheggio” sono solo 5 posti auto davanti all entrata(in salita) dell’ hotel. Il parcheggio più vicino è a 10 minuti a piedi al costo di 30 euro al giorno e tra l’altro parcheggio scomodissimo perché in salita e stretto. Arriviamo in camera e sentiamo subito una puzza di fumo di sigarette.. la camera non era pulitissima ma al limite dell’accettabile soprattutto per la vista mare stupenda, il mobilio vecchio, la serranda non stava ferma e scendeva da sola, la tv non funzionava, dal bagno usciva puzza di fognatura infatti abbiamo dovuto chiudere la porta, abbiamo trovato pure una tovaglia macchiata di marrone… il bagno era proprio vecchio, macchiato di ruggine e con la vasca, Insomma hotel 4 stelle forse 30 anni fa poteva esserlo ma avrebbe bisogno di una ristrutturazione totale. La piscina era pulita ma le sdraio anche quelle sporche e “abbandonate”. Colazione scarsa ma buonissima! Non ci tornerei. Mi dispiace

The view of the hotel and also the location justify the price. Spectacular view of the sea and excellent location to reach both the free beach or equipped lido near the structure (5/6 minutes on foot) and to reach Isola Bella (10/15 minutes max on foot) and also to reach the cable car that takes you to Taormina (10' max on foot). In any case it is also close to the bus stop. Quiet swimming pool and always with an excellent sea view. Parking a little expensive and a little inconvenient (there are 4/5 parking spaces on a steep climb) but there is no alternative other than parking on the street (very few spaces) or in the nearest parking lot which is in the cable car square at a higher price. The breakfast is not bad but something more could be added and above all I strongly recommend displaying the cards with the description of the product both in Italian and English given the massive presence of foreigners. The structure needs to be improved (rejuvenated) but I think they are working on it. The rooms are quite large and with a nice terrace. Small adjustments can make the difference for this property which I believe, given its location, has excellent potential... but obviously the price would then increase.

Io e mia mamma abbiamo soggiornato per due giorni in questa bellissima struttura, ed è stata una sorpresa inaspettata. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo, soprattutto considerato che eravamo a Taormina, è invidiabile. Ad accoglierci in reception abbiamo trovato Ivan, ottimo biglietto da visita perché è eccezionale, sorridente e disponibile ogni istante per rendere il soggiorno perfetto. Se vi serve qualcosa, anche solo positività, cercate lui. La stanza, semplice e pulita, aveva un terrazzo con panorama mozzafiato, talmente bello che una sera abbiamo deciso di ordinare una pizza e cenare in terrazza, lontane dalla fiumana di gente presente in centro. Hanno anche una piscina molto bella, dove potersi rilassare con un buon calice di vino e una vista, anche qui, degna di nota. Altro plauso va a Giancarlo, proprietario della struttura, gentilissimo, sorridente e con tanta voglia di coccolare il cliente. La colazione è buona, semplice, sia dolce che salata (uova, pancakes, torte, affettati, brioches, yogurt) e caffè o cappuccino da macchinetta. Anche qui, il solo mangiare con la vista mare è impagabile. Insomma, se volete essere coccolati e godervi un soggiorno rilassato lontani dal caos del centro di Taormina (che comunque si raggiunge facilmente a piedi), questo posto fa per voi. Un lido in convenzione è raggiungibile in 5 minuti a piedi. Noi non abbiamo mosso la macchina per l'intera durata del soggiorno! Sicuramente la struttura è nuova e necessita di qualche piccolo accorgimento, può grandi cose in potenza e ci stanno lavorando, ma proprio per questo il prezzo è davvero competitivo e si sta talmente bene da non fare caso ai minuscoli miglioramenti che vanno fatti. Mi spiace che i proprietari debbano avere sulle spalle recensioni negative di una precedente gestione, ma sono certa che continuando così verranno spazzate via! Auguri e a presto.
