Came back for the second time in 14 years. And even if it's built and expanded since the first time I went in 2010, Ganesh Garden Beach Cabanas is still the best place to stay on Marakolliya Beach, the most gorgeous stretch of sand in Tangalle, if not the entire South Coast.

Uns hat der Aufenthalt im Hotel sehr gut gefallen. Die Anlage ist nett gestaltet, das Personal war freundlich und hilfreich. Unsere Naturschlamm Cabana war sehr basic eingerichtet (ein wenig mehr Ablageflächen wären schön gewesen), war aber in Ordnung. Das Wetter war relativ heiß, mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit. Obwohl es keine Klimaanlage im Bungalow gab, war die Schlafqualität gut. Die Lage fanden wir genial. Das Hotel liegt an einem sehr schönen Strandabschnitt, trotzdem kann man zu Fuß viele Restaurants erreichen. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Wir fanden das Restaurant aber nicht so prickelnd und die Preise waren auch um einiges höher als im Ort, deshalb haben wir immer auswärts gegessen. Zu Silvester gab es eine wirklich coole Strandparty mit Dj. Wir würden das Ganesh Garden schon allein wegen der super Lage empfehlen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut und die Anlage schön.

We visited as a group of 4 and had stayed in the cabanas 13, 14 near the beach. Location was absolutely fabulous almost like living on the edge of the sea with huge waves sometimes entering the porch.Beach was beautiful and clean although couldn’t swim much as the sea was rough at that time. Sadly, that was the only good part about our stay. Cabanas were very basic, not even a mirror inside the room, no fridge or tea kettle either. There were ants and small bugs everywhere inside and room service was non existent . Also the cabanas were very dimly lit and stay wasn’t comfortable at all.Probably other rooms in the nearby property which is modern might be better but we didn’t check them out. Special mention for Taranga who made efforts to make us welcome. Overall the resort is Definitely not value for money!

We had a very relaxing stay at Ganesh gardens, the location is wonderful - right on the beach with a great pool and swim up bar. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Be mindful that this is 2-star accommodation so not luxury by any stretch. Rooms could be cleaner, bottled water isn't complimentary and not all rooms have Mosquito net.

Fantastische accommodatie op een heerlijke plek. Prachtige stranden, heerlijk zwembad en een erg goed restaurant. Service was erg goed, super vriendelijke en behulpzaam. Wij verbleven hier vijf nachten en hebben heerlijke tijd gehad. Een van de beste plekken in Sri Lanka!

Des cabanes sombres, rustiques, qui manquent d’équipement (rien pour poser ses vêtements, pas de meuble de salle de bain…). Une vue mer qui n’en est pas une (on ne voit pas la mer des cabanes contrairement à ce qui était indiqué). Une piscine qui est celle de l’hôtel d’à côté avec un immeuble derrière. Une plage qui n’est pas propre et où on ne peut pas se baigner à cause de rochers. Un personnel peu efficace, ne tenant pas compte de nos demandes (serviette sale à changer…) Cafards dans la salle de bain, chien errant sur le balcon… Très décevant.

Schöne Lage, sehr schöner Garten und schöne Aufenthalsmöglichkeiten am Strand… Aber: Zimmer sehr dunkel, eng und schlecht ausgestattet. Badezimmer sanierungsbedürftig. Preis-Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht sowohl im Hotel als such im Restaurant. Viel Personal, dass sich in der Anlage tümmelt und nicht arbeitet: im Restaurant, in nicht belegten Zimmern auf Treppen… Essen im Restaurant lieblos und fade dafür teuer. Wer trotzdem hier wohnen will: in unmittelbare Nähe gibt es ein topp Beachrestaurant ;-)

Die Lage ist der absolute Wahnsinn und wirklich traumhaft! Das Frühstück ist auch wirklich super! Leider sind die Zimmer nicht dem Preis entsprechend und völlig überteuert: Dreibettzimmer war super eng, kein bisschen Deko und leider auch nicht besonders sauber. Von der Decke hing Schimmel, Bad sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Für den Preis haben wir in Sri Lanka VIEL besseren Standard gehabt. Insgesamt fehlt ein bisschen auch die gute Seele, Personal wirkt sehr lustlos mit sehr wenigen Ausnahmen. Preise sind leider völlig überzogen. zB Tuktuk ins Zentrum über das Hotel 400 Rs, selbst organisiertes für 200 Rs, nur ein plakatives Beispiel.
