This is a nice Hotel\Restaurant It was clear that they are going through a changeover of management and operational staff, which has made for a bit of a chaotic experience. The room we had was spotless and very comfortable, parking was easy, I am sure they will get back on top of the operational aspects including breakfast service (slow, no menu, only one woman knowing what was going on but under too much pressure) If that is the case I am sure it will get back to being a good place to stay in a lovely area of the UK.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding. The service was awful from the moment we arrived. Booking system was a piece of paper with names scrawled on. Staff couldn’t find my booking until I pointed it out to them. We were offered no information on how to leave hotel when restaurant was closed and also no info on breakfast. Breakfast service was painfully slow The room was at best just above Travelodge quality and extremely hot. Fast forward to night two when there was a massive commotion about 1.30am. It transpired that the “hotel” had double booked a few of the rooms. Out of curiosity we went downstairs around 2am to discover that the father of the groom had been left homeless from the massive f@&k up. At breakfast the next morning we found out he had been offered a mattress in the hallway as his bed for the night. Very upset that I wasted the best part of £300 on two nights in this awful place.

The room was really clean (but a bit hot during the night) and the breakfast was really tasty. The staff are really welcoming and have been really lovely. I would definitely stay again.

I'm not quite sure where to start!! We had 4 nights here, what an odd experience! We arrived hungry, only to be told that the restaurant was closed and there was no bar menu either because the new chef hadn't got a menu organised yet. Luckily the pub across the road had delicious food. Our room was fine except for there being no window, just French doors out onto the fire escape. This made the room very stuffy. We couldn't have the doors open, firstly because anyone could have got into the room, and secondly because the guttering had come loose and rain had soaked the wooden doorframe which swelled up and it was stuck shut! So it was a stuffy night. It rained again and we woke up to a very soggy carpet where it had come under the door. The proprietor promptly gave us a new room downstairs which was really nice and even had a little patio with table and chairs. However we found out that someone else had been given our old room without the problem being fixed! The breakfast was delicious but there was no menu, and no selection of anything out to choose from. All we were offered was a full English. The breakfast lady bimbled about in her own time and at one point, seconds after I asked for some apple juice, she wandered in with her arms folded and stood watching out the front door!! She was very apologetic when I reminded her though!! The proprietor was a genuinely lovely guy but very scatty and always having some kind of dilemma! On our last evening the food was finally available and a fair few people were in. We chose a burger from the bar menu which was overcooked and sadly very mediocre. While we were in the bar, my husband had to keep getting up to let people in because the door kept clicking shut and the proprietor was nowhere to be seen and even admitted that he'd forgotten these people had booked!! The only corkscrew had got lost so people had to wait until it was found before they could have their wine. Overall I'd say this is a perfectly acceptable place to stay if you're just after one night, but any longer than that be prepared for a very surreal experience!!

We arrived and were shown in to a lovely spacious ground floor room with cheerful decor and a smart bathroom. But things went downhill from there. At breakfast on the first day there was no menu or buffet table with cereals, yogurts etc, so we had no idea what was available. They offered us full English or other bacon or egg options - I had poached egg on toast, which was fine. On our last day, we’d warned them the evening before that we’d need our breakfast at 8am as we had a long drive ahead of us. We got to the breakfast room to find it in darkness at 8am (not exactly the crack of dawn!), waited around for a few minutes and left without any breakfast, which we had paid for as part of the room fee. As for the evening meal, we ate there on the first night, but it was a very limited menu and generally disorganised service, so after that we chose to eat in the pub across the road, which we can recommend for good traditional pub grub.

Have had Sunday lunch and evening meals here several times and it’s always been outstanding. Unfortunately things have changed as now a new owner and new chef. The staff were very helpful, polite and apologetic. Unfortunately the main course was uneatable. The meat and potatoes had clearly been left to dry out and were hard and over cooked. We were given a refund. Obviously the new management and staff were still finding their feet. I wish them luck for the future.

Wow what a little gem of a hotel with restaurant. Room was amazing, modern, classic and Mediterranean feel in heart of a Kent village. If you get room 8 or 9 you won’t be disappointed. Restaurant food was top notch if a little pricy and the included breakfast was also lovely in quality and flavour. Would pick over a chain hotel any day especially as location has few choices for accommodation.

We had 4 rooms at the bakery for a family wedding nearby. Selection of family and double rooms. Each was very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Breakfast was great. Everyone was was very pleasant and made us feel most welcome. Thank you.
