Unbelievable find in the middle of nowhere. Perfect stop for Kumano Kodo trekkers. French woman and Japanese husband produce top-notch French dinner for you. Lovely traditional Japanese home with all the modern conveniences.

We could not have felt more welcome or cared for than we did at this lovely wee guest house. Every detail was well thought-out and every contact with our kind hosts was filled with a true spirit of hospitality. The French dinner was excellent—we did not expect blanquette de veau and a nice pinot noir while walking the Kumano Kodo!

The hosts were incredibly helpful, polite and welcoming. The French cuisine cooked by Sara for dinner and breakfast was delicious and better than I'd expected. Super soft futons and pillows, quiet location and you can even buy wine to accompany your dinner. I'd definitely return.
