Once of the better hotels if you plan to stay overnight in this region. Very close to the town of Matmata this is in a deserted village of Tamezret. Rooms are tastefully done up and ethnic but tiny. They have a small Tower that gives you a 360 degree view of the area. There is a cafe but meals might need to be booked in advance. The staff are pleasing and my stay was pleasant.

Tout était parfait, un personnel au petit soin, l’hygiène est impeccable, l’accueil est chaleureux, la cuisine c’est un délice avec des plats traditionnels et des plats adaptés pour les enfants et un cadre tout simplement des plus beaux! Un passage obligatoire pour une exploration du sud de la Tunisie. Toutes mes félicitations à l’hôte.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Dar Ayed. C'est une petite ville au milieu du désert, j'ai apprécié le calme et la tranquillité de cet endroit. Le désert qui entoure le complexe est une expérience extraordinaire que l'on ne peut pas vivre dans n'importe quel endroit. Le petit déjeuner et le dîner étaient délicieux et le personnel très aimable. Je recommande vraiment cet endroit à tout le monde. Je ne peux comparer mon séjour au Dar Ayed à aucun autre et je me réjouis d'y retourner bientôt.

WOW. Dar Ayed was easily my favorite experience during my 2 week stay in Tunisia. My friends and I arrived in the evening after a long day of driving through the desert. Arriving at Dar Ayed was like arriving at a beautiful gem of an oasis in the middle of the desert. The rooms are soo huge and spacious and the interior detailing is authentic and beautiful. I couldn’t stop taking photos. The staff is so kind and made us feel so comfortable and at home. They were there for anything we needed. The dinners and breakfasts were delicious and some of the best we’ve had in our entire stay in Tunisia. They source all their food locally from their small farm and from the nearby towns of Tamezret and Matmata which is something I really loved. The pool is also so beautiful with a view of the vast desert surrounding. The location is perfect to explore Douz, Matmata, and even the Berber museum is just walking distance away. I really cannot wait to be back here soon :)

We felt very spoiled at this guesthouse. Arriving later in the afternoon, we settled in then went for a swim in the pool. Dinner was included and was an authentic Berber meal. Our host explained what each dish was. Outdoor patio dining. Rooms were small but had what we needed. AC, shower. No in-room safe or mini fridge and wifi was sporadic, but the setting more than made up for it. Wake up to sheep and duck sounds.

Maison d'hote magnifique situé à la sommet de la montagne de Tamezret. Vue extraordinaire sur les gites et la montagne de Tamezret. Accueil trés chaleureux. La chambre est formidable avec meubles berberes. La place de Dar Ayed est trés calme.

Je recommande vivement la maison d'hôte. Le personnel est accueillant et très sympathique et les propriétaires sont très gentils. Les appartements sont propres, la nourriture est excellente et il y a plusieurs activités que l'on peut faire (pétanque, fléchettes, piscine...).

Un endroit paisible et superbement entretenu. Un accueil au top, on se sent comme à la maison ou chez un ami de longue date. Nous étions en chanlate double standard. Simple mais juste ce qu il faut. Un repas typique et excellent. Une harissa maison délicieuse… Un rapport qualité/prix parfait. On recommande vivement
