the best and i mean absolute best staff and vibes!! shout out to my guy ponytail/goatee, diego at the front desk and my man ivaan (who makes the worlds best spicy margaritas!!). i loved how everyone would connect and hang out in the evenings and how much fun i had every single day (currently staying in selina santa teresa north and its the exact opposite, no vibes and the staff is very unhelpful/rude). one thing i will say tho is the facilities could use a LOT of work - more cleanings in the bathrooms, some upgrades to the suites (i had a private micro and it was a windowless room with a bunk bed - no mirror, no rack to hang anything etc.) but this is definitely a management issue. overall, loved tamarindo so much! holds a special place in my heart always and forever
Seis Playas Hotel

My husband and I stayed at Seis Playas Hotel for 2 nights mid Jan 2024. This is a nice size boutique hotel with rooms around the pool and restaurant area. Very nicely laid out, beautiful grounds with flowers and greenery. There is a great size pool to cool off, a nice sitting area, chairs around the pool as well. Breakfast was included for us, there is a nice size menu for breakfast options. One recommendation I would offer is adding fruit to all the breakfast options rather than having it with one :) We ate dinner here one night as well which was great! All staff that we had the pleasure of encountering were wonderful, friendly, eager to help. This hotel is only about a 15 minute drive to Tamarindo Beach - we spent 2 days exploring Tamarindo and then escaping the busyness at this quaint hotel afterwards :) Diego, Roberto, David, and the other bartender/server with the tattoos on his legs (forgot his name) You were all fantastic - thank you for the great service! Wyndham Tamarindo

This trip was for my honey moon, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The shuttle service was easy and efficient and the trip to town was less then 5 mins away. The beach club that was attached to the hotel is 6 mins away and prime location in the beach. All the rooms have a beautiful view and would definitely book again even if it is not right in the beach as everything is within walking distance and a taxi ride away (we paid 5$ from center of town to our hotel) the rooms were clean and the ac unit kept the room nice and cool which is refreshing coming in from the humid outdoors. Definitely book again … pura vida
House of Nomad - Adults Only

My wife and I stayed here in February 2023. We were booked in for 7 nights and were really looking forward to our stay, other reviews were good and the photos were great. Upon arrival at the “hotel” a friendly lady showed us to our room and explained some things about the hotel. We were very surprised first to see that there was a lot of construction going on next to, and across the road from the hotel. Second, that the hotel looked unfinished and third that there was a very large (size of at least 2 basketball courts) open air bar and music venue complete with stage 20ft from our room overlooking the site! We expressed our concern at the very large open air music venue 20ft from our room and the lady said there had only been a couple of events there over the last few months and they had finished at 9pm and not to worry they were taking legal action against this venue. We took her at her word and settled down for a nice stay as the room was very nice and we had travelled for 24 hours from the UK to get there. Day 1 of our stay was interrupted at 7am by the ear piercing sound of a circular saw cutting metal. This carried on until 6pm each day we were there, meaning we had to leave the hotel all day to avoid it, no lounging next to the pool for us! Day 2 In addition to the construction noise during the day, we returned to our room to find that the music venue had a huge event on with around 500 children enjoying themselves at a disco. This wound down at 10pm but was incredibly loud even in our room. Day 3 After complaining about the noise the previous evening the girl on the front desk agreed that it had been terrible and said that it probably wouldn’t happen again and that they had called the police on the venue. We decided to move hotels but there was nothing available until the following afternoon. That night the music venue held a dance party until 2am. Day 4 we moved hotels to the Tamarindo Bay boutique hotel which was exceptional. Please be aware that the management team refused to refund us for the days we had stayed (but did not charge us for the cancelled days how nice of them….) stating that the noise was not their issue and blaming everyone else. At the point of booking there is no mention of the construction or music venue so we feel they have been very dishonest especially as they are taking legal action against the music venue. We would not have booked if we had any idea of the situation. Avoid at all costs.
Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel

This is a small hotel, great for families. The rooms are a good size, very clean, the pool is well maintained, the breakfast is amazing, all of the staff are friendly and do everything they can to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Five of us, including teenagers, stayed here in Jan and five of us, with 2 children, 8 and 10, stayed here in Feb. and everyone loved it. It’s off the beaten path but close to the Main Street and beach. There is a grocery store across the street, a basketball court and skate park nearby and Saturday mornings there’s an amazing market in the park beside the hotel. Also, free parking at the gated property was a plus since we had rented a car. We will stay at Ten North every time we are in Tamarindo. Highly recommend.
Hotel Pasatiempo

Nice hotel with clean rooms but pretty basic. We loved the location and enjoyed being able to walk everywhere. Road is pretty noisy but that’s no fault of the hotel and Tamarindo is a loud town with lots of music but again, no fault of the hotel Rooms definitely need some updating and our biggest pet peeve of the whole stay is the location of the light switches by the bed. They were very oddly located behind the pillows at the head of the bed which resulted in us repeatedly accidentally turning the lights on in the middle of the night. The restaurant staff and food was pretty disappointing. When I went to order a snack to bring to our room there were 5 staff and I still stood there waiting with barely any communication. I felt like I was interrupting their day. Portion was very small and tasteless. Breakfast was very expensive so we didn’t eat it there at all. In fact over our 3 days there we didn’t see anyone eating in the restaurant at all!
