We had a very good stay, attentive staff and the manager who was Swiss gave us lots of good tips… Excellent breakfast for really good value for money. Early in the morning there is a family of monkeys walking around on the roofs which was very nice to watch… I recommend with my eyes closed 😊

Such an interesting hotel, it felt like a real beach hotel! Very good location, close to the beach and lots of restaurants. Very friendly service at reception and breakfast. Reliable, affordable and good laundry service ($5/kg). Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable with a nice porch with a hammock, overlooking the pool.

Although this hotel is only a few minutes walk from the busy resort it definitely felt like a little oasis. We loved the trees all around the pool that gave us shade after a hot day at the beach. It is a really small hotel so it was always really quiet around the pool. Most of the time our only company were the visiting iguanas and monkeys. The one iguana is BIG but so chilled, we loved watching him and his smaller friends. The whole hotel is spotless. The rooms were kept exceptionally clean and although you will get leaves in the pool this is your be expected when it is surrounded by leaves. But the staff spent a very long time each morning carefully cleaning it back to perfection. The breakfast was pretty standard for CR hotels, the pizzas were yummy and great G&Ts during happy hour. There are a few things that need sorting which they will hopefully look at now it is end of season; the door locks were a pain, we had to move from our first room and then our 2nd room you had to learn the special way to lock it. Also our toilet needed my husband to do regular fixes to get it flushing. Don’t therefore expect high end. But what you will get is a perfectly positioned relaxing hotel with lots of wildlife!

Perfect oasis, tucked away from the bustle of Tamarindo. Quiet mornings with coffee, watching howler monkeys and iguanas lounging by the pool. Breakfast was delicious! So fresh and flavorful. Helpful at check in and with booking airport transportation. Would stay again!

Really pretty common area. Wonderful staff. Wildlife right in the hotel common area was a treat. Rooms could certainly use some upgrading. Didn't feel the interior of our room looked like any of the different rooms shown on the advertisement. Overall convenient location and felt safe.

Rebecca created for us the most amazing Cucumber Gin & Tonics poolside for Happy Hour❤️ We are loving the experience at Hotel Pasatiempo! The breakfast and pool area and rooms are great. And we also enjoy visiting with Ted the Iguana A wonderful boutique hotel experience!

This is a very cute boutique hotel that’s conveniently located across from a grocery store and near the beach and dining options. The pool was great and we saw monkeys in the trees above the pool! We only ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was just so so. We were able to store our luggage at the reception desk before getting our room and after we checked out which was really convenient. We arrived really early from a night flight and couldn’t get our room until 1 PM and we were able to enjoy the pool during that time which was great. It’s a little loud near the road and restaurants, but ear plugs helped. The little patio out front of our room was really nice.
