Aloft Tallahassee Downtown

This review is wholly directed at the front desk staff and the manager at the Aloft Tallahassee Downtown. If you are traveling on business I would strongly recommend that you avoid this hotel. I am a Titanium Elite with Bonvoy and booked a one night stay on 4/30/25. Due to a very last minute cancellation by the client that I was scheduled to meet with the next day, I needed to cancel outside of the 24-hr window for non-penalty cancellations. I do not need to cancel at the last minute very often, but it does happen occasionally. On the few occasions in the past when I needed to do a same day cancellation due to circumstances out of my control, I simply called the manager of the hotel and a waiver was granted so that I could cancel without penalty. The experience at the Aloft Tallahassee could not have been more dissimilar. When I called, a very rude and dismissive desk clerk denied my request to cancel with penalty waiver. When I asked to be connected to the manager who had denied my request, I was first routed to a voicemail. When I called back I was told that the manager did not have time to speak with me. The nastiness by the desk clerk was shocking to me because I am confident that I have had, at this point, over a hundred stays at Marriott properties and have never had an experience even remotely similar to this one. I would expect a higher level of concern regarding how this property represents the Marriott brand as a whole. At any rate, I would recommend that business travelers avoid this facility. There are plenty of other nice hotels in Tallahassee that value a higher level of professionalism from the client-facing staff.

Great hotel but loud location The hotel itself was great, but the location ruined this trip for me. The rooms face a very busy street with no type of barrier and it was very loud until 3-4 in the morning each night. If you’re a heavy sleeper than there’s no issues, but for me I got very little sleep the entire stay. Additionally there is a large church that plays an organ on speakers outside, so after not falling asleep until 4am at 8am on Sunday I was woken up to this which went on for about an hour before I packed up and checked out early to get away from it.

The hotel is nice with a trendy vibe. But it is located downtown and is extremely noisy all night long. We didn't get any sleep. Also has a big lounge area that was busy all night.

Super clean property. Amazing staff.
