Olare Mara Kempinski Masai Mara

Our stay at Olare Mara Kempinski Masai Mara was thoroughly enjoyable, providing a very comfortable safari experience. The tent accommodations were lovely, featuring polished wood floors, a cozy sitting area, a large bathtub, and French doors opening to a private deck overlooking the hippo path. Our family stayed in tents seven and eight, which shared a convenient deck—ideal for a family, and so close to the hippos that we could hear them grunting at night. Waking up and drifting off to their calls was an unforgettable aspect of our visit. The camp is perfectly located along the river, offering wonderful views of two hippo pools. Its design strikes a great balance between comfort, style, and a strong sense of harmony with the natural environment. Our guide, Erick, was quite helpful and worked hard to give us memorable wildlife encounters. He showed us a leopard and guided us to the right spots to observe lions and hyenas during feeding, giving us a glimpse into their fascinating social interactions. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to spot herds of Cape buffalo, zebras, Topi antelope, and, of course, numerous hippos. Overall it felt like at this time of year it was harder to find animals here than it had been at Lewa. Paul, our personal tent valet, provided exceptional service. He was always attentive and even managed to clean our very muddy shoes until they looked brand new, adding an extra level of care to our stay. Linet, the camp’s masseuse, was absolutely outstanding—easily providing some of the best massages our family has ever experienced. The open-sided tent by the river offered a serene atmosphere, and Linet’s skill and warmth went well beyond our expectations. She truly deserves the highest praise. Meals were very good . Keith, the chef, took special care with my food allergies, creating delicious dishes for every meal. Moses offered helpful service in the dining room and assisted in carrying a chair down to the river so I could paint—a considerate gesture. A nice highlight was the riverside buffet breakfast, where the scenery added to the meal. Our Christmas Eve was made special by the culinary team, with a meal under the stars by the river. Dominique and Moses worked every detail making the celebration feel both warm and memorable. Every member of the staff was friendly and professional, ensuring we felt well cared for at every turn. A special shout out for the team going to remarkable lengths to forward our daughter’s forgotten book tol our next camp!

Olara Mara Kempinski is in a wonderful location in the Masai Mara. The staff were great, food was always excellent and our ranger Raphael went above and beyond in search of animals we were hoping to see. Unlike normal safaris, i understand Kempinski is only one of four companies allowed to go offroad to really see animals up close. Definitely a major plus!

The Camp The infrastructure is on top, the employees are very polite and super obliging. The food is so varied and super delicious! The tents and the roomservice are fabulous! In every aspect the good guys at olare mara always go above and beyond for your well beeing! The Gamedrives As a secondtimer safariwise it was an absolute dream! You leave the campsite early in the morning (bushbreakfast optional) and you will be back in camp around 10 to 11 am. The second drive of the day starts around 4 pm until dark. The best thing about the camp is its perfect location! There is no need to go far, we had most of our action within 1 km around the camp! Olare Mara has exellent guides with an amazing sense for the animals/nature! The cars are comfortable and in good shape! Cheers Daniel W.

Stayed here in August for 4 nights to finish our honeymoon and it was just incredible. This place is in a conservancy so much less traffic out on safari and you can get right up close to the animals. The facilities were fantastic, all the staff were incredible with such warm hospitality. It was a beautiful setting and the honeymoon suite tent was absolutely stunning. Would love to return one day!

The Olare Mara Kempinski stay in the Masai Mara was a trip of a lifetime. We went with our three boys (ages 9-13). It's an extremely up close experience with the wildlife on this private conservatory, both on the game drives and at the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dominic, the Hotel Manager, made sure we were always comfortable and safe. The food was delicious at every mealtime (hats off to the Chefs!) and there were lovely tea and coffee and snacks in the afternoon. All of the waiters, especially Hezron (one of our main waiters), were super friendly and made us feel at home. Our ranger from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, Rafael, was outstanding. He was extremely attentive, experienced and informed. He made sure we saw everything and was incredible with the kids - he was funny, loving and gave us a sense of security with his oneness with nature and the animals. He definitely made our trip memorable beyond expectations and we will never forget him. The Kempinski Olare Mara does an outstanding job at making this an extraordinary experience and would highly recommend it!

We have been to many camps in South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. We love safari and this camp is extraordinary. Such luxury and attentive service. The general manager is Leakey and he was so welcoming. Our guide was Danson and our game viewing was wonderful. I love that because we were on a private conservancy that we had the ability to off-road and get up close and personal with the wildlife. We were attended to by Benson and Kelvin and our chef, Kevin was out of this world. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had whatever we needed. There were special touches such as breakfast served at the edge of the property by the river and candlelit dinner by the fireplace. Each time we left our beautiful tent and then returned our room had been transformed. It was such a special place and one in which we would gladly return.
