Was booked as a birthday treat. If you like organised activities and timetables then it's for you. On arrival they asked for passports, out to the car to get, then voucher, out to the car to get, then a copy of my credit card. Really was not happy with that and thought it unnecessary as they had details from booking as the room was paid for,it made me very uncomfortable. The main swimming pool was large but had only one place to get in so was a long walk. We ate outside the hotel at one of the many less expensive restaurants. Our view from our room in block 13 overlooked a dilapidated roof of the Thai themed restaurant, didn't compel us to eat there. The room itself was comfortable and clean and we loved the dressing gown, it's our thing. WiFi around the resort was good. Sunset memorable. A great place for families that like a package holiday. Not for us.

This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. 4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors. 5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note. 6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings. 7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Cons: 1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests. 2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms. Rating: 8.5/10 In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. While there are a few areas that could be improved upon, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and charming getaway in Khao Lak.

Was so impressed with this hotel 5 years ago that we returned again in October 2023 and they gave us the same room we occupied before. This was a water pool access room which is a must if you stay here. The rooms are large with a massive bed and has all the facilities you could wish for. Although we did no eat our main meals in the Italian restaurant we had breakfast which covers all variety of foods and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. A particular mention to Tounchai the barman who served us daily at the pool bar during Happy hour with delicious cocktails. Also to the maid (sorry can't remember her name) who cleaned our room 1123 and left wonderful creations on our bed. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Bang Niang Market which is 2 mins walk is open every Mon, Weds, Thur and Sat which does street food and has many stalls. The Waters is highly recommended.

This hotel is in Koala North, 35 km from the pier to Similan. The hotel has no Chinese guests except ours, all are white, the pool is very large, and there are few people on the private beach for a few kilometers. Hotel staff will take guests to dance on the beach. The room is large with 70 square meters and the bathroom decoration is a bit old. The restaurant chef is a white man who belongs to Western-style Thai food. The taste is okay, but the serving speed is too slow. Overall very satisfied, suitable for a holiday stay hotel not to go out.

I went to Similan for one night, but I regretted that I didn’t stay a few more nights. The receptionist Aidy was very friendly, and there were free self-service coffee and Thai milk machines nearby. Each of the twin beds was large, there were a lot of swimming pools, and there was a private beach with very few people. , the big slide should not be too silky, I have only slid it dozens of times, I didn’t see a single Chinese in the whole hotel, dinner was also served in the hotel, 🍕It was quite delicious, I played for a while after eating🏓️, I think the shortcoming is the bed The bottom is like a roller, which is a bit wobbly and a bit movable ~ The location of the hotel is a bit inconvenient without a car, but the hotel as a whole can be described in one word: *.

Excellent quiet and cozy hotel. Stayed for 2 weeks. The main guests are European pensioners. Rooms with access to the pool. The rooms are large, there are no smart TVs - regular TVs. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast with a lot of choice, but every day the same. The hotel's restaurant hosts weekly barbecues and other events for guests. The hotel itself is not on the first line, you need to walk 200 meters to the beach, but you need to drive to a good beach. But this is not a problem of the hotel, but of the place. Every day we drove 15 minutes to White sand beach.

The hotel is old and needs renovation. However I somehow forgot because the staff was wonderful. They tried their very best to accommodate for requests and was helpful regardless what we asked. The first night was a bit rough as the rooms smelled mouldy. I requested for a clean of the air-conditioner in both rooms and it helped a lot. Should this have been done prior to our arrival? Absolutely! But at least they are responsive and try their very best to give you a great holiday.

Ocean Leaf Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room, clean pool and good breakfast. 2 mins walk from a lovely clean Sandy beach. We stayed here for four nights to unwind before our backpacking adventure across Thailand. Do not try and eat within two hundred meters of the hotel if you want a nice and affordable meal, walk up to the main drag. Go Pong is a good choice, but there are lots of others. Check out my trip report on forums or other reviews.

I booked a regular room for 1,400 RMB a night on Ctrip. FOOD: The food was really unpalatable. I ordered three dishes in the picture and took a bite of each one. The taste was wrong and it was very unpalatable! The free bread basket was thought to be moldy. Papaya salad, whoever eats it will be disappointed. Checked in and waited 25 minutes. There is no service at all. There were not many guests on the day I checked in. I saw on Ctrip that there were rooms with sea views. I asked the front desk if I could upgrade the room? Answer: No. There was a very damp musty smell upon entering the room. When I checked in, I found that the light in the room was broken. People from the engineering department repaired it for 20 minutes while I was present. Why book this hotel? Because it is very close to the pier to Similan, it takes 40 minutes to drive. If I go to Similan Island next time, I will definitely not stay in this hotel.

The hotel staff speaks english and is very helpful. The villas are old and dated, internet access works only from the common area and you have plenty of stairs to climb. What this place has going for it is the location. It’s settled on a hillside and each little villa is overlooking the ocean combined with a tropical vegetation setting a beautiful accent. Unless you want to spend a fortune, there is no other place beating these views. I will come back.
