You won't believe the size and sheer stylishness of this place! Walking distance from hidafurukawa station and a beautiful, spacious 2 storey house, this is perfect for anyone visiting takayama or hida. Shinji San is a kind, attentive and communicative host who went the extra mile to ensure our comfort. Highly recommended!

The one thing I can say about the Iori is "wonderful". From the front desk personnel to the room, it was a delightful stay. We stayed in the main building, in a room full of light and nice details. The bathroom, with its onsen next to the shower, was very clever and practical: you could leave the bath full of water and just warm it up for the next use, which saves an enormous amount of water. There were pleasant surprises in the room, such as small gifts (bath salts, sweets), as well as a kettle for tea. The one criticism I would have is the breakfast: compared to other Japanese hotels, it feels rather lacking. It was placed in the hotel lobby, without any member of the hotel around, so when we didn't find a kettle, I had to go to the room to prepare my tea. The hotel is very close to the Takayama train and bus stations, and to a large number of restaurants and bars, and about 15 minutes' walk to the old part of Takayama.

Convenient - houses are well-situated in city center area. Friendly - once you checked in, staff were make an appointment to showcase and explain the usage of the house. Cultural - houses come in traditional japanese machiya design. Most comes with the hot bath, traditional wooden decor. Breakfast - comes with fantastic japanese breakfast that would leave you craving for more Value for money - Worth every cent Customer experience - Top notch experience, I forgotten about my briefs after I left and Shingo was fantastic in her customer experience management by keeping our conversation open, and sending it to my next point of destination in Japan. Expected of any Japanese culture, but she went above and beyond her duties

We stayed at the Deluxe Japanese Style Townhouse - IORI OJINMACHI. Beautiful townhouse. We stayed 3 nights and toured Takayama and did two excursions; one to Hida-Furukawa and the other was Shirakawa-go. Hida-Furakawa was very quiet in July but we had a great cultural experience visiting the museum and touring the sites. Shirakawa-go was a 50 min bus ride one way and although beautiful to see, there was absolutely nothing to do there! One hour tops is all you need. Food shops/restaurants may or may not be closed and may or may close early so it’s not very tourist friendly. Takayama itself is good for one full day to explore. Our hotel was comfortable and the manager was hospitable. We booked this particular townhouse because it had two toilets and two showers. We were here in July and the beds had a thick duvet which made it super hot to sleep at night even with AC on. A quilt would have been better. My hubby ended sleeping naked and he still had to kick off the duvet in the middle of the night. We were all sweating buckets. The sun comes out early every morning around 5:30am so blinds would be nice in the bedrooms.
