Hoshokaku

The hotel is located on a mountain, so you can get there from the station by taxi (about 1,500 yen) or call the hotel in advance to be met. They will take you back to the station. The hotel minibus runs every 30 minutes until 10 am. A beautiful onsen, very clean, conveniently planned. In the women's section there are 3 ponds, two of which are outdoors, one of them is a jacuzzi. At 5 pm I was alone. In the men's section, as my husband said, there are also 3 ponds, also beautiful. And of course shampoos, gels, etc. hair dryers, everything is available. It's funny to walk around in yukatas, which are given out at the hotel. Dinner is kaiseki, very beautifully presented. As is breakfast. But the food is not ours, but it was very interesting. I would not say that the room is large. But the futons, in my opinion, are uncomfortable. After the onsen you want to lie down, and the futons are spread out while you are having dinner. You have to sit - it's uncomfortable. So you choose a room with regular beds. As an experience, one day is enough.

Blizzard stayed in Takayama. I booked a Japanese-style room with a private bath on the roof of Hoshokaku. The private bath is on the balcony. You can see the city in the distance and the snowflakes falling. I couldn't get a taxi during the blizzard. The previous hotel helped me contact Hoshokaku and provided a free car to pick me up. It was very heartwarming. The hotel has a car to the JR station before 10 o'clock every day. It runs every half an hour. It is very convenient

The staff was very friendly, the meals were thoughtfully arranged, and the presentation was exquisite, which was a pleasant surprise. There is roof over the parking lot, so there is no need to worry about heavy snow. It is close to the old street and has a great location.
