We were warmly welcomed with exceptional hospitality to a beautiful part of the world. The Tui chalet was immaculate and well appointed. The outdoor bath is a wonderful experience in an exquisite setting.

Really enjoyed our stay in the kererū chalet. Spacious and private, outside bath, lovely setting. Chalet was spotless and had everything we needed for a great stay. Just a short stroll into Takaka. Owner is a lovely lady, very welcoming and kind. Would definitely stay here again.

Leanne and her family are terrific hosts. The cottages are large and super clean, and simply looking out the windows you see pancake rocks. Among other surprises, they have their own small Glow Worm cave, and…….a common area pizza oven. So grab some wine and pizza ingredients at the market in advance

When we travel, we seek out unique lodging that enhances our overall experience of the places we are exploring. The Rock Chalets did just that! After 5 years of nomadic travel (retired, in our 50s), this will be one of our most memorable experiences. Cabins nestled into a unique rock formation setting, completely private with all the comforts you want in a stay. Beds are dreamy, outdoor tub (we stayed in the Kereru Cabin) was the perfect end to a day of exploring. The level of service is something you rarely see anymore - hosts were wonderfully engaging/accommodating and everything was spotlessly clean. They've thought of everything you could possibly need. On-site glowworm cave was also fun to explore.

Recently, my wife and I stayed two nights at The Rocks Chalet in Takaka. This motel (only five units) is on a peaceful property and only a kilometer away from eateries and shopping. We stayed in a studio room, which was nice, clean, and very spacious, and we had a parking space right next to our room. Our host [Lee Ann]? greeted us upon arrival and was friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and suggested places we may want to go. My wife and I are particular about our accommodations when we travel, but we have nothing negative to say about The Rocks Chalet. Our stay was enjoyable, and we highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Takaka!

This was the most amazing place we've stayed in so far in NZ, and one of my favorites in the world. The place was so very clean, had all the nice touches and everything (and more) that we needed. I was sad we were only staying one night. Leanne, the owner, spent alot of time answering all my questions and gave us the perfect plan for the short amount of time we had there. We would have missed Pu Pu Springs if it wasn't for her!! Not to miss! Very nicely located close to the town center. Lots to do here. The garden outside our room was spectacular, and so very private. The room had so many nice little touches. If we ever come back to NZ, we will plan many more nights at The Rocks Chalet. BEST place we've stayed in NZ so far. Thanks Leanne and Lloyd!

Outstanding! This was our favorite stay and the best value over 24 days on the South Island. The unit is really spacious and thoughtfully well stocked. The attention to detail and the care invested in providing a great experience is evident. The outdoor space and tub are a gem, along with the glow worm dell. The owners are very kind and should give lessons on hospitality. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Pro tip - booking on their website is cheaper.

What an absolute gem! Home away from home! We stayed here over the Xmas week with our large family made up of 4 families. All the chalets were so well equipped with bathroom, kitchen, outdoor bits all well stocked. The king size bed was super comfortable. Netflix on the TV. Leanne and Lloyd are just fantastic, and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and helped my parents out with rides into town when needed. The chalet was private with the most beautiful outdoor garden, and great addition of the outdoor bath. We can't wait to be able to hopefully stay again one day! Thank you.
