Family run inn, simple and clean. Perfect location near good food, hiking and other things to do. Room was in great shape and had everything we needed — would recommend for anyone looking for a convenient place to stay while road tripping

I was greeted with a friendly welcome at reception, always appreciated after a long journey. I was impressed to find how spacious, clean and comfortable (and well equipped) the ”Garden Chalet” was. Consisting of a single room functioning as bedroom (a very comfortable bed) lounge/dining and a kitchen area. A separate toilet/shower room. Accessed through sliding glass doors the chalet has it's own enclosed courtyard/garden. Parking is right outside the chalet which was handy. The front of the motel is located off the main road into Tairua, around 500 meters or so from the shops, cafes, etc. The back of the motel is on a quiet road, about 100 meters from the estuary, ferry / fishing wharf and local scenic walks. Staff were friendly and helpful and helped make it a relaxing stay. I definitely recommend and I will being staying there again.
