Taipei Zhongshan District 5-star Hotels

I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Taipei and overall had a lovely experience. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning — the iconic architecture, beautiful interior design, and rich history truly make it a one-of-a-kind place. My room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, and the view was just as grand as the hotel’s name promises. However, I did encounter a bit of disappointment regarding a birthday request. I had reached out in advance asking if there might be a small complimentary gesture for my birthday. Unfortunately, since my check-out was one day before my actual birthday, the hotel declined. The response I received via email was quite cold and simply said “no,” with no alternative or warm message, which felt a bit impersonal — especially since staying at this hotel had been a dream of mine for a long time. Despite that, I still enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel for its unique ambiance and elegant surroundings. I just wish the service had been a bit more accommodating or thoughtful, especially for special occasions.

Stayed here out of convenience because our event took place in one of their function rooms. The lobby is grand, the room is spacious and luxurious although the decor is a little dated. The fact that they still use physical keys says alot, which also means the lifts are not restricted to in-house guests only. Even the aircon in the room is still turn-type thermostat. The room is abit like a junior suite where there's an additional door separating the entrance and bathroom from the bedroom. I do wish the lights are brighter, too dim for my liking. The side table lamps and floor lamp are also manual control, so you have to turn them on/off one by one. The bed is firm but the pillows are too soft and sinks without support. Clean and spacious bathroom, do note however they don't provide single-use disposables so bring your own toothbrush. The water pressure in the standing shower is good, but the hot water for the bathtub is not hot enough. Location wise isn't too convenient. The MRT is about 7 mins walk away, considering you also have to go downslope from the hotel lobby which is situated above a park at the top of the slope. There also isn't much else around in terms of local food and stuff, except for 7-11. It's connected to Regent Galleria in the basement where there are more luxury boutiques from Sisley to Chanel, Hermes, Issey Miyake etc. 5* service, every staff I've met throughout my stay has been most friendly, helpful, attentive, polite and full of smiles.

Returned traveller! The hotel location is great with exit 2 just across the road and exit 1 behind the hotel. The service of the staff is also great! A quieter side of taipei but yet with quite a few food options around too! Only thing to note is that taiwan doesnt provide any toothbrush shaver etc (based on the law) so do remember to bring your own!

This is one of the nicest and most luxurious properties in Neihu. The staff is always waiting and ready to help. For me, the lack of English speakers on staff is a small touch when it comes to request. It seems like most people at the hotel are there to eat as the line for the restaurants is always out the door. The facilities are also a plus with big playroom for the kids, pool with a big tv behind it, and a well equipped gym. The rooms are very spacious and well thought out. The bedding on the other hand is one thing that really bothers me, but that's more of a personal preference (haven't had a great night's sleep the two times I've stayed). Also the 4pm check in/11am checkout is definitely a minus compared to the standard 3pm/noon checkout.

The hotel room is very cosy and comfortable. The food is good and decent. However, the location is quite a distance away from the nearest MRT station and there is no transportation provided from the MRT station back to the hotel in which we had to walk back for about 9-12 mins.

Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. While the hotel does have a more classic and slightly dated aesthetic, it’s clear that the property is extremely well maintained. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the rooms to the common areas, and the upkeep is impressive. The service was warm and professional, and the location is convenient—within walking distance to several shops, eateries, and the MRT. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished, with little touches that made the stay feel refined.

Landis Taipei Hotel is a really top tier 5 star hotel that in my opinion goes all out for best in class hotel experience. The huge bathtub in my room is from Kohler, and the shower head from Hansgrohe. The room itself is big enough to lay out my luggage. Only concern is transportation options. While the hotel is situated right in front of a bus stop, the buses don't come frequently. Hence, public transportation via buses is sometimes a hit or miss. And the hotel is not near to a MRT station in my experience. Overall, I have a wonderful stay in Taipei and would gladly recommend it to friends.

I will definitely return on my next visit to Taipei and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Knowing that we are staying to celebrate our anniversary, they upgrade our room, where it is super spacious and awesome. We have an extremely pleasant stay here. Will definitely come stay again! :)
