Spent a night in a lovely comfortable bed with decent breakfast in morning. Main downside was a very poor electric shower with low water pressure and erratic temperature control. Some of the other fixtures and fittings need attention as well - TV sound distorted, bathroom extractor fan doesn't work properly, bathroom mirror appeared to have a built-in light but it didn't work or wasn't connected up. This was the ground floor room at the front. Was also surprised to see in the online listing that the place has a tennis court and a billiards room, perhaps it does but I didn't see info in the room about where they were.

Check-in was simple with room keys waiting in the foyer. Our ground-floor room was bright, spotless, and perfect for afternoon tea with light refreshments included. Wifi worked well, and on-site parking made everything easy. The breakfast area was tidy and welcoming, offering a nice spread—breads, croissants, pancakes, top-notch yogurts and cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, and juices. Great coffee and a solid tea selection, too. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. We didn’t meet the hosts, but that wasn’t a big deal for us.

There was no room on the carpark to start with, we had to park on the road. There was no one to greet us at the door just a key on the side which is very impersonal! Room was lovely and clean, the only person we saw during our stay was the morning after when we saw a waitress in the breakfast room. Breakfast wasn’t anything to write about only cereal and toast available and we even had to get up and make our own hot drinks out of the machine. We paid £120 which is a lot for not a lot. We won’t be staying here again.

Happy stay We were just there for one night and it was very comfortable and staff Very helpful and the breakfast was very tasty. Will come back.

Excellent guesthouse! Great place to stay! Large warm room, large comfortable bed, hot shower, very nice continental breakfast and quiet. Would highly recommend.

No check in as such but easy to pick your keys up off the table and let yourself into your room. Clean, tidy and comfortable room. Plenty of continental breakfast in the morning. Go for a meal at platform 1864, excellent food.
