Very strange place. There was no food on offer. Dinner was served in their sister hotel which we were told was a 2 minute walk away. It took about 15 mins to get there (as we wanted to have a drink with dinner). The food in the sister hotel was lovely. However, i was totally amazed when we were told that if we wanted a cooked breakfast, we had to go back to the same hotel!!! I asked could we at least get an egg in the morning. I was told yes, but it would be a COLD egg. I have never experienced this in a hotel before. The staff were very friendly but lack of food, especially for breakfast when you first get up in the morning, was not acceptable. Definately not worth staying in for the hassle involved.

fantastic warmly hosts , great geographical location, great views & the Hotel is very cosy, the continental breakffast is a must as well as when visiting the Highlands. we will revisit May 2025 & looking forward to meeting the Team again, on our re-travels of the Highlands

We recommend staying at this hotel had a lovely experience nice food clean staff are great and the owners are lovely people. We are going back for the new years party! Friendly place thank you for our holiday Alfie had a fab time. And compliments to the chef. Can't forget the cat haha he's very popular in the hotel haha thanks again

Poor experience: Transferred us to an old house Despite being asked for a refund, they still transferred us to the "Morangie Hotel Tain" which is nothing more than an old house. That "hotel" had such a strong smell of carpet clue or some other cleaning chemicals that it triggered an asthma attack and we needed to leave urgently. We were unable to stay at that hotel and had to travel all the way to Dornoch at 11:00pm in order to stay at another hotel so we had to pay for another hotel. We need a refund for our stay and until we receive one, this review will remain here and other sites. I wish the castle had handled the situation better, but they did not.

Lovely hotel and staff Lovely big hotel , staff were amazing , food amazing . Had a very creaky bed every time i moved in it the noise was crazy 😄 . Could dowith a little up dating , lamps and fridges , but none the less it was an old hotel , so authentic . A little expensive for what we got to be honest , but would i go back , most definitely 😊.

We elected to eat here as the restaurant in the sister hotel we were staying in wasn't open that evening. The menu was very limited. The only vegetarian option (a risotto) wasn't even vegetarian as it was advertised with parmesan shavings. I opted to have it without the shavings. It was edible but it was a tiny portion and hugely overpriced. The next morning we had to have breakfast there (because the restaurant in our hotel was still closed). It was fine but again the options were limited e.g. no veggie sausages, no hash browns, no fried bread etc. On the plus side, the toaster made perfect toast (which is rare for a hotel with a conveyor toaster!).

Worst hotel we have ever ever stayed in anywhere! Avoid this poor excuse for Scottish hospitality . Nobody to make breakfast and serve except teenage boy, no cleaning of room or en-suite bathroom, peeling paint everywhere, cheap , worn out upholstery and curtains. Staff on desk had no idea what to say to complaining customers, they shrugged and were clearly embarrassed and so inept dealing with guests who had payed a lot of money for it with no way of getting a refund. Don’t go near it!
