We enjoyed a Kimo pie remembering days in Maui ..before kicks burned..views and the burgers and tacos..great… ahem… but taco Tuesday should be ALL day. Starts at 4 so please pay double for your marg at 2pm! Hmm. Not a fan..and we had a Huli Huli ordered at our table. It was want back in favor of a burger as it was chopped chicken w bad rice and teriyaki sauce..it did look like a nursing home or hospital meal. The check came and the waitress did not take the meal Off? Hmm I guess message is go after 4 for better pricing.. and stick w basic bar food to be safe. Views unbeatable ..watching the boats getting dropped by lift Into the lake is great.. skilled people. Overall needed more staff to max selling drinks, clearing plates ..the t shirt booth was doing a brisk summer business impressive.

Stayed at Sunnyside Lodge with my extended family and we had the best time. Rooms are updated, roomy and comfortable. The breakfast is well more than just a continental breakfast and the views are incredible. This is such a find and a perfect place for both summer and winter getaways.

Cleanliness was good, but upkeep of the premises is concerning. Roof needs cleaning of debris, flashings are missing, broken items are stashed at the side of the building and can be seen from some tables, covers on electrical mechanisms are missing, carpet is old and dirty in entrance area, etc. Going out of business soon? It would be a shame as it is a lovely place. Owners need to spruce it up.

What a horrible meal!!! We lived in Tahoe for 25 years and went to Sunnyside a couple times and it was mediocre. After some car trouble we were stranded right by the restaurant so we took our mom there for Mothers Day. What a terrible MISTAKE. 3 of the four meals were not edible. We had the fish and chips…freezer burned old thickly battered gross fish. The fish tacos had the same disgusting fish in them. The waiter recommended the airline chicken. This dish looked bad from the start and was even worse than it looked. Not even sure what that potato thing was that came with it. The final dish which Wes ate Yak bolognese pretty much made everyone at the table YAK! We tipped the waiter well because he was a nice kid but NEVER EVER WILL WE EVER SET FOOT IN THAT HOLE AGAIN!

We will be back
Went for our anniversary. It was a beautiful property on the water. The only downfall is we didn’t have a designated parking spot for lodge guest. Due to lack of parking had to park down the road and walk.

Beautiful View
Beautiful view right on the water.
The room was clean and inviting. The bathroom was nice and had space to put our toiletries. I did wish they had a vanity mirror with better light for doing makeup. Water pressure in the shower was not great, I’m glad I didn’t need to wash my hair.
The beds were ok, but it could be time for new ones or maybe they were just too firm for us both.
I’m not sure if it was where our room was but we could hear every foot step up and down the hallway and door slam. It seemed like thin walls and just an older building where you can hear your neighbors shower schedule.
We did not get a chance to having dinner as they are only open at 4pm, definitely missed out on this.
Nice selection of complimentary breakfast and coffee/tea. They also had a great little espresso maker in the room.
They were very nice at check in and offered us some sparking wine for the birthday we were celebrating. Friendly and easy check in and out.

We always love our stay at Sunnyside. Great staff and jazz piano music for breakfast. Not a fan of the evening music though.
