We have just wrapped up 6 wonderful days at Maui Palms in one of their villas. Despite a initial payment hiccup and difficultly communicating with staff prior to our arrival, honestly, once we got off the plane and were greeted by our transfer driver and then arrived at the resort itself there is little that could have been done to improve our stay. The accommodation was very spacious, clean, and private. The bed was comfortable, and the the sliding doors were equipped with reflective/tinted glass which added privacy and blocked some of the heat. The food was good and priced in line with that in the area/resorts - we benefitted from a free airport transfer from Nadi ($350+ FJD value, according to our driver) and daily breakfast, provided with our booking due to the duration and booking direct through the Maui Palms website. The staff were flexible with meals, and even adapted a few for us. There were also no room service fee, and you could easily request food/drinks be delivered to your room, by the pool etc. There are a few other restaurants in walking distance, including a small convenience store which sold the necessities (notably, alcohol and chocolate). An absolute highlight was the welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff. Notably, each day they hosted a number of guided activities - a reef walk, snorkeling, a hike, kayaking, and coconut demo/cultural experience. Each of these lasted between 1-2 hours, and was *free*. The staff who took us on these experiences (Felix and Aku) went out of their way to engage and accommodate those available, and made our trip memorable. Outside of these experiences, you are free to request access to the gear available (e.g., if you want to kayak first thing in morning, for example). Aku was even kind enough to facilitate our own kava session, for our final night. We don't typically visit places twice, but we already miss our time at Maui Palms. Vinaka vaka levu!
