Tradewinds Hotel was a good option for our family trip to visit the National Park of American Samoa. This is a beautiful place with wonderful people. If you are looking for a traditional, chain-style hotel, then Tradewinds is your best option, but it has its challenges and you should adjust your expectations accordingly. First, the positives: the price was a good value, housekeeping was kind, the air conditioning worked well, parking was easy and abundant and the airport shuttle was convenient and efficient. The opportunities for improvement: the hall smelled strongly of mold and mildew like they had been wet, the water pressure presented challenges and the mattress was at the end of its life. Simply put, in any other setting, I would have only given 3 stars.

The hotel is very modern but retains the small island charm. Every staff member we encountered was helpul and pleasant. The grounds arevbeautiful. We reserves a suite and it was very spacious and comfortable. Only compaint, the matress was too soft for my liking.

Best of American Samoa
Overall a great option for a trip to American Samoa. NPS is about 30-45 minutes drive away. You can rent a car directly from the hotel, which is a great option. Shuttle service complimentary to and from the airport. Well kept up and clean. Pool is great, but you may have to share with local children that can rent it out. Staff was helpful and nice. Complimentary breakfast is coffee, bread, and fruit, but there is an option to order if you need more and are willing to spend. Based on other people we talked to on the island, it is by far your best option to stay. Would recommend!
