Hotel Hermes

The Hermes is in a great location, just a short walk from the harbour and a great view across it if you have a sea view room. The rooms are comfy and very clean and you get a basic breakfast included which can be busy depending on the time. The hotel is busy with travellers and Greeks as a lot will travel into Syros for business. We did not eat dinner here as there was a lot of other options in Syros which itself is beautiful and well worth a visit.

This is our second time at the Hermes hotel. This time we stayed for 5 nights and took the Junior Suite which last time was called an Executive room. Great large room just above the rocks and sea which gives a very nice scenery and atmosphere. The hotel itself is in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from the center of Hermopolis and the port. The room and hotel are very clean. The room is spacious and very comfortable with all the amenities needed. The bed is excellent and while lying in it you can watch the sea and the boats passing by. The breakfast is not with a large variety as some other places but fully adequate. Seating is both in and out doors. We tried the hotels restaurant once and it was very tasty and reasonably priced. Bottom line - this is an excellent hotel and we can’t wait to return again and hopefully soon!

We had a smallish but very comfortable room overlooking the port. Great location. Room had a very small balcony that you couldn't really sit on but at least we could open the windows and look out. We loved to sit in our room at night with a few drinks and watch the world go by below. We looked around at local restaurants but kept on coming back to the hotel restaurant. Good, reasonably priced food in hotel restaurant. And nice water view from hotel restaurant terrace. Buffet breakfast included in our room price. Reasonable selection of hot and cold foods for breakfast.

We loved everything about the Hermes Hotel. The location is brilliant - right on the harbour of Ermoupoli, an easy, flat 10 min walk from the ferry, and a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful town. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the daily breakfast. And our room was just incredible. We booked a Suite with Sea View which I think is one of the best rooms available at the hotel and it was wonderful - super-spacious, light, beautiful contemporary design with a separate sitting area, a huge bathroom (with shower and bath), and a terrace to die for. It's one the few times I've ever experienced a hotel (and room) far exceeding my expectations. We can't wait to return here in the future and highly recommend this hotel if you're heading to Syros.

Firstly, the location of this hotel is perfection. Having breakfast overlooking the yachts in the harbour at the front is amazing plus swimming from the little beach at the back is fantastic. Beach shoes recommended though and there are sun loungers in the garden for relaxation. Our room and bathroom was spacious and well decorated and the whole hotel looked good with an elegant vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. However we didn't pay for a sea view and had a balcony overlooking an ugly building and never wanted to sit on the balcony. Most balconies are not very private also. I recommend paying extra for a sea view.

Totally thrilled with my one night stay at Hermes Hotel, staff so friendly (and spoke perfect English) hotel is well placed for charming Syros town, as well as the port & ferries, both in easy walking distance in 10 minutes. The hotel was super clean and quiet, and my gorgeous big, cool, room had a wonderful sea view balcony, and views of the garden. The bed was massive, and had super quality bed linen, so comfortable. Inside the hotel is a charming mix of exposed stone and some indoor trees, 2 storeys high! Breakfast was VERY good, both hot and cold. I live on Tinos now, just arrived 3 weeks ago, but I am sure I will be visiting Syros again quite often and will definitely try to stay at the Hermes.
