The bus called the “Mountain Express” can take you and your party from the slopes or down into the charming town of Crested Butte for fun shopping, fine dining or enjoying a movie. It’s within easy walking distance to several restaurants, shops and the convenience store (liquor/groceries/deli). You will also have 2 non-covered parking spots at the front of the building.Crested Butte offers World-class skiing in the winter and spring. Right across the street from the condo is the ski area that has shops and restaurants along with The Trailhead Children's Discovery Museum where you can take a break from skiing and sights and activities around the base of the mountain. Crested Butte in the summer and fall is also amazing with lots to see and do. Enjoy visiting during the famous Wildflower or Arts and Crafts festival. Or enjoy the wonderful town park, a mile up the road, for youngsters to swing, slide, and dig while parents play a little tennis on the community courts. Multiple artists perform at the park in the wonderful town of Crested Butte in the spring and summer for FREE, just bring a picnic and a blanket! All you have to do is stroll down Elk and take your pick!The location of the condo is a given for snow skiing in the winter, but don’t forget about the fantastic trails up that same mountain on your mountain bike in the summer! The Chateaux offers ski and bicycle storage too.Crested Butte is one of the last true, unspoiled frontier towns in the west, really truly amazing! This is a renovated, 2 bedroom/2 bath Chateaux condo! It's a great location, you can take a 5 minute walk to the slopes or take the shuttle that runs through the parking lot every 20 minutes. The kids and adults alike will enjoy the outside pool and hot tub with men's and women sauna as well as a changing area. The ground floor condo makes loading/unloading easy. And the building is directly next to the pool house so no long cold walks. Other things to note:The condo is set up with an open floor plan with the dining and living area. The living room has a real wood burning fireplace with wood supplied by the HOA (directly next to our condo). Off the living area is a great deck with views of Mt. Crested Butte. The dining area seats 6 with additional bar seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with all your needs to prepare a meal. It has granite countertops and new appliances. There is a storage closet off the main living room to hold your skis, gear, and jackets.The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a shower/tub. The sink features a beautiful granite top and new cabinetry. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk bed (2 twins) and another ensuite bathroom. This bathroom also features granite counters and new cabinetry. The pool complex is open for the duration of the ski season and reopens the 3rd weekend of June through Labor Day and weekends until October. The pool area also has two gas grills available for guest use to make the perfect summer BBQ overlooking the peak of Crested Butte. There is also a bike washing station located on the side of the pool building nearest to our condo. Please note that at times the pool complex is closed, you will not be able to use the grills. The condo is on the bus route and runs every 20 minutes. In the winter the bus goes to the ski base area where you can catch the town bus for your evening out in CB. Amazing views and an outdoor community hot tub round out this amazing retreat.The spaceWalking into the unit you are greeted by a large mudroom with room to hang skis, boards and all your gear. A full bath with laundry is located just off the mudroom. As you enter the living space you will see a spacious great room with fireplace, the dining area and kitchen.Heading up the spiral stairs, you will find the master bedroom boasts a large, natural wood king bed with an en suite full bath. The second bedroom offers a natural wood queen over queen bunk and an en suite half bath.Back downstairs you will find the last sleeping area, a pull out sofa bed, in the great room which accesses the full bath located just off the mudroom.Looking for something to do off the slopes? A five minute walk to the base area accesses a handful of dining, imbibing and shopping options. If you don't find what you are looking for on the mountain, head into the Town of Crested Butte on the free shuttle. The shuttle has multiple stops all along Elk Ave where you can access a full suite of bars, restaurants, shops, a grocery store and an Ace Hardware.While the Buttes does not have a gym, daily and weekly passes can be purchased from the Elevation Hotel and Spa located at the base area.
