Our large open air kitchen looks out onto the porch/living and dining room and farmyard, and is a great place to cook your own meals, or enjoy traditional Costa Rican meals cooked by our neighbors from the local community and delivered to you. There is also a large wood grill for cooking on (we provide you with free firewood).True to the spirit of a traditional farmhouse, our open air porch doubles as the living and dining room spaces. We have four rescue kitties that like to visit guests on the porch, so if you are allergic to cats we recommend staying at one of our sister homes, Rancho El Rio or Panorama. Our hand-reared chickens are also quite friendly and love to stop by for visits as well. We also have rescued dogs that are super friendly and run around the farm, although they do not enter the porch area or farmhouse. The farmhouse is just minutes walking distance from the river, and our guests love spending time exploring the river in addition to the various trails that run throughout our farm and surrounding forest. We have a variety of animals on our sustainable farm, including rescue dogs and cats, donkeys, horses, cows, water buffalo, sheep, goats, pigs, geese, and chickens. We grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, and encourage our guests to try the fresh mangoes and starfruit just outside the cabin. A Great Place to hang out ! Here at Casa Mango we have fantastic pool with a big rancho. The rancho has a gas stove with tables for preparing and eating food. Sun chairs if you wish to lay back and soak up the sun. There is also a spectacular Deck over looking the water. Also a great place to eat your meals, drink the morning coffee, or just take in the view and enjoy the breeze. Inside we have a 46in flat screen TV with WiFi, and Netflix. A Bluetooth sound bar that can be brought outside to the rancho or deck, both have electricity. Refrigerator with Ice Machine and filtered water. Ceiling fans throughout the house. A/C in the bedrooms, and one in the main living area for those really hot days. Fully equipped kitchen, secure parking, hot water showers with good pressure. Comfortable mattresses, and a washing machine.We also have a tour boat that leaves right from the property and goes to Isla Tortuga, Gitana, and others about twice a month. Private tours can be arranged as well.Casa Mango is a quaint, rustic house restored to its former glory and updated to make your stay the best it can be. Right on the tip of the peninsula, Santa Eduviges. The place is located right on the Estero River from Puntarenas. We have a great view from our deck over looking the water to the "Angostura" from Puntarenas. There is no other place like this in Costa Rica. We are also conveniently located only 5 miles to the Ferry, supermarkets, bakery, and pulperia. We are in a "Real Tico Neighborhood" not a million dollar villa on top of a hill where you don't see or hear a soul. Our place is right where life goes on. This is how people really live in Costa Rica. The neighbors are mostly fisherman and retired people. All are friendly, humble, and working class. There is always some movement on the water, boats come and go all day. It's great sitting on the deck and watching the tides come and go, it's a forever changing landscape. There are many species of birds around all day including the occasional Scarlet Macaw, often seen flying in pairs or even eating from the tree right next to the deck. You can also fish from the deck, or even from the private pier we have on the property. You'll catch mostly catfish with an occasional stingray. Going to Puntarenas at night is an experience as well with all the street food vendors and people hanging out on the board walk.The bus stop is on the next corner, the bus will take you to Chacarita, Puntarenas Center, El Roble and other locations. Welcome to Casa Rector Beach House. This house is located one and a half hours west of San Jose (the Pacific side of the country). The house is approximately seven miles away from Puntarenas, a popular city in Costa Rica. The family-owned house is on a lot of property about two plus acres in size. The house includes six bedrooms: five of which contain their own bathrooms and one which connects. The rooms combined can accommodate twelve. The home is perfect for a group or for multi-families. The bedding and linens are supplied. The top floor of the house included the eating area and a full kitchen, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and utensils. Located on the property you can find six different types of fruit growing and many exotic flowers. The property also has a large, freshwater, ceramic tiled, in ground pool which is lighted by Sam Lighting.I hope you read the comments that were left from past guests because it tells you much about our houseMore Details: The pool is 3 ½ feet deep on the shallow end and 6 ½ feet in the deep end. Picnic tables and a barbecue hut are located around the pool. The beach is located at the edge of the property, we consider it our backyard. Once at the beach you can walk several miles in each direction. A gardener/guard is on the property at all times to ensure a clean and safe time. A cook or babysitter can be provided for an extra charge. The way the house is rented: we rent the whole house to the same renter whether it is a group or just a single family.
