The spring night was cool and the breeze was blowing. I was really shocked to choose to stay at the Xiangxi Crown Hotel. There was a quiet and peaceful goat runway downstairs. The front desk lady Cao Dan provided great service. I was very satisfied with the room she arranged for me during check-in. The front desk service was enthusiastic and took the initiative to upgrade our room. The interior was newly decorated, the bedding was clean and tidy, and the hygiene was good. I chose the Crown Hotel because of its unique charm. The front desk lady Cao Dan provided warm and friendly service, and was thoughtful and considerate!

It is 3 kilometers away from Furong Town Scenic Area. It is quiet in a bustling city and has a very good location. I am especially grateful for the service of the hotel butler. A very beautiful hotel with lovely styled rooms and very helpful staff. Manager Wang's service was excellent. We had a language barrier but they still managed to arrange a pick-up and drop off to the high speed railway. The hotel is in a great location with a view of Fenghuang bridge from the room balcony. Unfortunately it is true what other reviewers say about the bathroom being poorly designed. Rather than a shower, it is a bath tub with a retractable shower head and water gets everywhere if you try to use it as a standing shower. It is also true that the noise from the streets, particularly the music from the bar next door, is very loud at night, but it stops at 23:30. However, we found these to be minor inconveniences in our stay, which was overall very romantic and hugely positive. We'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

Really nicely decorated hotel. Id say one of the best hotels in this region. Given only four stars as our room was quite strong with cigarette smell. We informed the staff about it and they said they would send someone to fix it. I think what they did was just opening the window which made it worse as the cigarette smell was stronger when we came back possibly because we were on the second floor and someone was smoking outside. We didnt bother to tell them again as it was late and we just wanted to sleep. There was also some sticky stain on the floor that we asked them to clean it but it was still there when we came back.
Staff very friendly. A tea set is also provided.

We had the best service of our trip at this hotel- they truly go beyond and above. It was only a 15min Didi from the train station, also the bus shuttle from HSR to the city is right in front of the hotel. The location is perfectly situated at one side of the main bridge, but a nice 5min stroll away such that you are away from the noise on the main strip (in front of the river). Also, no mosquitoes. We initially booked a riverfront hotel but I am SO glad that we changed to this hotel after actually walking the whole tourist strip on foot. Legit the cobblestones near the river are terrible, and cars can’t get in so it’d have been a nightmare.
Next, Xiao Dai （小代） who helped us and the manager were all so sweet. 小代answered all our WeChat questions extremely promptly (literally 1-2mins), and when we asked about the free laundry self use machine onsite, she offered to have us leave it in our room and do it for us so we could go out and explore. I thought this was truly above and beyond- she picked the clothes up from our room, washed them (separately as well for colours and whites), hung them and sent us a photo, dried them and returned them to us folded and freshly laundered. We were simply floored by this level of service. They are so so so kind and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for their kindness and eagerness to ensure your comfort during your stay.
We stayed on the 7th floor in a suite and it was very comfortable- the bed itself and pillows were just right. Sheets felt high quality, pillows not too stiff and high, duvet was fluffy and nice. I liked that the toilet is separated from the shower and vanity- the soft but bright filtered lighting for the bathroom vanity was amazing for getting ready (for the girls who are sick of hotels with dark lighting and can’t do their make up). The room was spacious and although some aspects were a bit outdated, it was clean large and comfortable - we were so happy with our room.
They also gave our group of 3 girls 4 room cards which allows for each card to breakfast. The breakfast ayis were so nice and made eggs freshly your way when asked. The cucumber and radish pickles were yummy and we really liked the corn soup and congee as well as all the vegetable dishes. The selection was good for us, as we like clean and simple, easy to digest and nutritious foods in the morning.
Oh yeah they also sent us to the HSR on check out without charge, in the hotel’s car. They were so prompt in getting us to the HSR and the driver was really considerate, safe and careful. Literally the most calm drive we’ve experienced in China.
Side note- the gym is massive and looks largely unused but the equipment is good, there are weights and cables and everything. There’s also a pool table and table tennis. A yoga room complete with a good amount of gear and mats.

I made an appointment with a good friend to relax together on the weekend. A classmate had stayed in Erzhuo Valley before and said the environment was very good. The two of us came directly after get off work on Friday. There was a butler to pick us up after getting off the high-speed rail. The journey to the valley was also quite short.
As a Cantonese, I really like Hunan cuisine. I had 5 meals in the past two days and was amazed by several dishes. I couldn't forget them after eating them! ! I also secretly asked what chef was hired here. The first one was spare ribs, which were fried with tea leaves 😍 It was really special and delicious! ! The second one was peanut sprouts. It was the first time I ate peanut sprouts. When it was served, I thought it was lotus root tips. The crispy taste was very good. The third one was the giant salamander that must be eaten here. I had two methods, hot pot and dry pot. The hot pot one was a bit similar to the crispy Anhui fish in Guangdong, and the dry pot one was more flavorful and fragrant. The breakfast was very nutritious, and there was also giant salamander porridge in it, which was very fresh and sweet.
The itinerary for Saturday was to go rafting. There is a Mengdong River rafting nearby. I heard that it is the best rafting in the world. It is quite exciting. It is also my first time rafting. It is quite fun. I was a little tired after rafting. I lay down in the room to rest on Sunday morning. I also took a photo of the light and shadow. When I opened the curtains, I could see the endless green mountains. I planned to go swimming in the afternoon. There is also a very beautiful infinity pool in the second phase, but I made a mistake and forgot to put the swimsuit in the suitcase. I will make up for it next time.
Cows and horses who are used to seeing high-rise buildings really love this original ecological environment and successfully get rid of the smell of work. I am already on the way back to Guangdong. I will record the beautiful memories of this weekend for myself.

We visited during quiet season (Oct 7 just as golden week ended) and the hotel was practically empty. The owner called us and helped instruct the taxi how to get to the hotel. (It should be 20 yuan to get there via taxi from the train station). The entrance has not been finished building so you have to carefully navigate down some rubble. There also isn’t an elevator in the hotel. As the hotel was empty, the owner showed us 4 different rooms and was happy to let us have any of them at no extra charge. We chose one on the second floor so we wouldn’t have to climb the stairs with our luggage. The hotel is a 4 minute walk to one of the main entrances of Furong Ancient Town. With it not being directly in the town, it’s probably more quiet that other hotels in the area. The view is quite nice, on the left you can see Furong Ancient Town, on the right there is a lot of construction happening so not much to see. The construction was not loud during our stay. However there was a chicken next door that began making noise at 5am and didn’t stop for hours, it was excruciating. I won’t blame the hotel for this though! The bathroom amenities were great, the room was very spacious and comfortable and the owner was very kind.

From the moment you enter the B&B, you will see the scenery step by step. The details are very well done and the photos are very photogenic.
Moreover, the B&B has just opened and is very clean. It is only 100 meters away from the riverside in the center of Fenghuang Ancient Town. It is quiet and quiet in the middle of the city. It is very nice!

I am very satisfied with this stay! The environment of the homestay is very clean and tidy, the decoration style is warm and distinctive, and the care and attention can be felt in every detail. The facilities are complete and the bedding is comfortable. What surprised me most is that the location of the B&B is very convenient and there are many delicious foods around. The staff were very enthusiastic, and were very considerate from the communication before check-in to the service after check-in. GGuest UserService was excellent here, each one of the workers was so friendly and gave us free fruit and snacks the day we arrived. They let us choose which room we wanted to stay in, and also organised pick ups to and from the hotel, which we really appreciate. View was lovely too and we were able to see the fireworks. Highly recommend staying here :)

GGuest UserThe hotel is very nice. Although it is relatively downstream, it is not a big deal for us who live in Chongqing. It is only half an hour to go upstream and is not very far. If it is really far, I strongly recommend that you take a taxi to Nanhua Bridge and walk down.
Hygiene: Hygiene is okay, but the bed sheets have a bit of a smell, which may be due to the previous guest smoking, but it's okay that we brought our own disposable quilt covers.
Service: The service is very nice, including pick-up and drop-off, which is very convenient.
It is also recommended here that if you want to take pictures, you can choose a place downstream where the price is cheaper and more affordable.

I personally would stay no more than one night. You pay for the great location - right on the river and by all the hustle and bustle. The party does not stop at 10pm - I swear it was loud outside until 2am and you definitely hear it.
The room we chose (with a large patio) was extremely small and cramped. We couldn't enjoy our patio during the summer because there were so many mosquitoes at the door. We left a mosquito-repellant incense at the patio door and that helped a little, but we didn't dare having tea outside like we originally wanted.
The hotel also didn't feel secure. Our room was by the back door, which stayed open for most hours of the day. It was very convenient to get to our room, but the open door felt like a safety hazard. They said that they would close it at midnight, but that is too late for my comfort.
Service was okay at best. They tried contacting us before we arrived but we don't have a Chinese phone number. Responses through WeChat were a bit slow during some hours, and sometimes the front desk was empty. Perhaps we were just unlucky. The morning we left, the manager lady seemed the most competent and warm, but everyone else was a bit lackluster.
The room is old, and the bathroom has rusting metal. Toiletries were at least covered the essentials. No welcome snacks, but at least there were two bottles of water. Is it bad for us to expect more at the price we're paying? Among all the high end hotels we stayed at during our trip at this price point, this was the least impressive by far. The hotel pictures felt misleading on terms of quality and cleanliness.

SSquiggleGood comfortable hotel in Fenghuang. It was in a great location because it was just far enough away from the river to not hear the loud noises at night from the nightclubs, but close enough that we could step outside and immediately be in the old city. The beds were comfortable and the staff were happy to provide extra pillows and bottles of water upon request. A very nice stay.

RRachel Tay PEI came here without any tour guide, the people here are super helpful, but mostly communicated in mandarin. Food are mostly spicy and variety too, my son loves 串烧/barbecue food on a skewer, plain rice and non spicy noodle. Hotel provided unlimited drinking water, transportation are easy to find, online purchase is the most common thing to do here.

PPaowoahTraveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to?
We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere.
Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use.
Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.

Staff at the homestay are informative and helpful. Helped arranged pick up and drop off from train station at reasonable price.
Room is clean but a bit disappointing with the towels provided. Looks old, overly used and thin.
The room soundproof was not great. Our room was same level as the lobby and street and just next to the stairways that leads to other rooms from the lobby. Can hear other staffs and guests walking up and down early in the morning.
Read reviews of many old homestays in furong with view of waterfall that the room will smell of sewage but at Tusi Xuanfu it was good. No sewerage smell. Only complain is that can smell other people smoking outside from our room and the water pressure in the shower was very weak.
The free chinese tea set while enjoying the view of the waterfall was bonus. The breakfast was simple, just noodle soup, mantou and instant coffee. Noodle soup tastes nice especially for a tourist like me.
Would conclude that the price of the room I stayed is expensive compared to the quality of the room. The view from the courtyard is GREAT, just not from the room because the room only has view of the platform, and river but not the waterfall.

RRiffrathPros- Great location by the river, beautiful and close walking distance to the food shops, famous bridges and the red lady singing on the boat (5-10mins). Clean warm room. Bit of scuff marks and stuff on the walls and wooden furnitures but overall charming, nice and modern and no like stinky smells from the river/mosquitoes/cigarettes etc. Warm showers and has all the standard amenities (hairdryer, soap shampoo, shaver etc). The manager is super friendly and hospitable even though she doesn’t speak English she really tries her best to help.
Cons- noisy bars and karaoke until 11pm, tour groups in the morning start like at 7am below the balcony (maybe one or two when I was there 2 days) and 9am construction work starts. The free tour is sadly in Chinese only, and the free outfit doesn’t include photos or makeup, it is about 199 yuan for that but if you don’t want photos or makeup it’s free. Don’t think they wash the outfits super often either. Laundry is apparently not a proper one and you have to hand wash. No lifts if you have a lot of luggage.

GGuest UserThis hotel was such a gem! Located in a beautiful scenic area, it felt like a peaceful retreat. The service was outstanding—the staff went above and beyond by picking us up, dropping us off, and even helping with our luggage, which made our stay so much easier.
The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and had an amazing view. One standout feature was the heated toilet seat, which was such a treat during the cold season. Having a washer included was another huge bonus, especially for longer stays.
