2nd time we’ve stayed here, unbearably hot on the warmest day so far this year as no air con and one fan. This lead to no sleep, obviously the accommodation cannot help the weather. Staff friendly, room a good size and lovely beer garden for drinks after our night out.

Our family met for an annual get together and meal in June. There were 13 of us for the meal and six of us stayed at the venue( others lived locally). We arranged a family meal on Saturday night and the food was awful. Four of us ordered steak and although two asked for medium rare and two asked for medium, they all came the same and were full of gristle. Mine was undoubtedly the worst steak I have ever had. One of the party sent theirs back to the kitchen and it came out the same as before and not medium rare. The waitress was very stressed and we did not want to upset her so decided to make our feelings known to Marston’s who own the pub. One of us ordered a mixed grill which was over cooked and dry and another had lamb which was as bad. The meat was of very poor quality and didn’t feel like it was cooked by a trained chef. Four of us met in the bar at 5.45pm and were asked to get a table in the garden and order our drinks on their app. We did this and the drinks arrived half an hour later. I ordered a drink at 10.15pm and the two staff behind the bar were openly complaining about their working conditions and were unhappy people were still in the pub garden although they didn’t close until 11..00 pm. The following morning we waited half an hour before our breakfast order was taken. The place seems to be very under staffed and they all seem to be unhappy. The family spent well over £1,000 including the rooms and we were all very disappointed. On my return home I received an email to complete a survey regarding our stay. I gave honest feedback mentioning the above points and received back what appeared to be an automated reply saying sorry and they would do better next time! I was unhappy with this so lodged a complaint on Marston’s website which they have never responded to although it asks if you would like to be contacted. Overall this is not a place I would recommend to anyone and Marston’s need to take complaints seriously and not just ignore them.

It is near a busy intersection and pulling in and out car park should be done carefully. Not many disabled parking spaces. There is a garden area with tables across from the pub. There is a sign of a one hour wait to be served but I think this was inaccurate. I ordered the Sunday lunch at the bar, it came less than 10 mins. Roast pork loin, very small stuffing ball, a small piece of crackling. My request for extra crackling was not honored. Roast potatoes, the roasted vegetables , some peas pods and an over cooked Yorkshire pudding. Food was warm and not hot. The gravy was bland the whole meal was bland, with little flavor or seasoning. The bar area was a bit noisy with crashing bottles into the recycle bin, and the usual meaningless background music. Service was ok, but no acknowledgement when I was leaving. This meal gave no reason to want to return.

Worst food I’ve ever experienced in my life. And the beer wasn’t much better. The Pedigree beer was flat and tasted watery. The roast dinner was inedible! We had been on a really long walk so we were starving but still couldn’t manage to eat it. Yorkshire puddings were dry and rock hard, roast potatoes too hard to cut through, gravy very watery and hardly any given. The veggie burger was dry and over cooked. Dont waste your money here

Comfortable but some early morning traffic noise The rooms of the guest house were comfortable and the pub served good food (although the portions seem to have shrunk in recent times) The only general criticism would be the noise from the road outside, traffic is fairly constant through the night and picks early in the morning. Not a problem if you're leaving early but not ideal if you were hoping for a more leisurely start to the day

Came here two weeks ago after a gap of over ten years between visits, on our initial visit two weeks ago we were delighted with the revamped decor and layout of the pub, the attentive but not in your face staff and the food was delicious. We both had mixed grills and every single item was cooked to perfection. We were eager to return so we booked for this evening. We were a little disappointed to see the mixed grill had not only increased in price but was now missing the lamb chop 😞 but we remembered how much we enjoyed our previous meal so we decided to order the 'same' again. It couldn't have been more different. Every single piece of meat was overcooked, dry and bland to the point of tastelessness. Even the chips were bland, grilled tomatoes were hard. The only thing actually tasty was the side order of cheesy garlic mushrooms. I'm sure the duty manager knew the food was well below par as when we went to the bar to pay he didn't even bother to ask if we were happy with our meals. Shame as we really enjoyed it only two weeks ago.

Booked a table for 6 for a modest wedding celebration and were amazed to find a beautifully dressed table prepared for our arrival. Very friendly attentitive staff. Top class service and excellent food. A big 5 stars from us, we will be going again.

We are regulars to the Crewe for food, the staff are always friendly, polite and professional. The food is always served very quickly unless it is busy and we are told of the wait. We cannot fault the food and any issues are addressed at the time and are always dealt with asap. Thank you to Tracey and her lovely staff
