Nice to stay here for a night and check out the area and wonderful parks and running / cycling opportunities around here... The hotel and room is fine but a lot of smoking nearby and in the rooms. Also if you are not into seafood then you'll need to go walking further away or bring your own food! Friendly staff...

The TV in the room is a bit small, but the environment is OK. You can get a 15 yuan small cup of Haagen-Dazs voucher by adding WeChat. The restaurant on the 7th floor has a nice view. The only drawback is the cover of the air-conditioning vent. Because the air-conditioning was turned on, it may have vibrated and fell off twice, once in the evening and once at 4 am. It was scary.

Love this Hotel. Discovered it during Covid, when we were not allowed to leave Suzhou!
Hospitality is top.
The kids love the outside pool, the main reson we stay at Fairmont every year during the Summer Holidays for a few days.
The indoor Playground is for me too small, too hot, but, for FREE and my kids age 6-10 can enjoy themselves nevertheless, for hours there!
There is a small farm, archery, Go-cart, but we went only once, a bit expensive, the outside pool is enough for them!

Stayed for 2 nights on a business trip to Suzhou. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The breakfast restaurant is small but has a variety of options. However, there is an inconvenience in that the Internet Wi-Fi connection is not automatically connected in the room and the staff must manually connect it.
Overall, I am satisfied with this quiet and clean hotel.

Not recommended. If you are staying with children, after completing the formalities at night, you enter the room. Suddenly there is a noise, and you find that there is a railway outside the window, and there is a platform nearby. There was a train passing by in a few minutes, and the sound was extremely loud. I communicated with the front desk if I could change the room opposite. I was told that the room type 214 on the Internet is near the railway, so it is not easy to change. This night, imagine how you slept...I forgot to take pictures, just experience it by yourself🤷♀️

The hotel's sanitation and cleaning are good. The rooms are on the 4th to 6th floors. There are plenty of parking spaces around the underground garage.
The first floor is surrounded by business districts, supermarkets, pastries, snacks, restaurants, fresh food, barbershops and stationery stores.
The bathroom has hot water after 5 seconds of showering, which is comfortable.
More importantly, if you walk across the road, there are villa areas on both sides, and 5 minutes later is the newly built ecological garden green belt by Yangcheng Lake, with a good environment. There are many people fishing on weekends, and white strips are 10 yuan per catty, which is worth buying.
The hotel is willing to recommend, the price is affordable and quiet.

The service attitude of the hotel front desk has always been very good. When checking in, the lady took the initiative to bring welcome tea and led me to choose the room I liked. She also took the initiative to point the direction of the breakfast room and introduced the hotel's facilities and boxes. The sky garden on the third floor is also very warm. The smart TV and curtains in the room look very high-end. Especially the TV in the living room is very large. The air conditioning is comfortable. The pillows and quilts are also very soft. Jjimmyliu2I have been to Tongli Lake Resort for two consecutive years during the National Day holiday. This time it was a family trip with 5 families. This time I stayed in the second phase garden view twin room. The second phase was built later and the decoration was a little newer than the first phase villa room. The hotel has complete tourist facilities and can basically meet the needs of children. The ticket to the ancient town is free after 5 pm! It took a long time to get the room during the National Day. It would be better if it could be optimized!
Free shuttle bus from the hotel to Tongli Ancient Town: The shuttle bus is convenient and it takes 5 minutes to get to the north gate of the ancient town

LljjjRoom: The room is quite okay, not too small but not too big. We can open two 24-inch suitcases in the room.
Air Conditioning: The air conditioning is a standard unit (not central), and you can use the remote to set the temperature according to your preferences. You can adjust it to be very cold or less cold.
Amenities: Every day, they refill two bottles of mineral water for us. They also provide new slippers, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo daily. Towels can also be changed every day. There are about 4-5 sockets in the room. Remember to bring a universal adapter, as the sockets are not designed for international use, although there is a USB port that can be used directly.
Shower: The water pressure is not very strong but still acceptable.
Breakfast: The hotel only has a pantry area with 1 table and limited chairs (similar to pantry) and no restaurant.
Transport: The hotel is near the Humble Administrator's Garden (5 minutes walking distance), Lion Forest Garden (3 minutes walking distance), and Suzhou Museum (5 minutes walking distance). The Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum are located side by side. If you don’t mind walking, you can also reach Pingjiang Road (15-20 minutes walking distance) and Guanqian Street (15-20 minutes walking distance). For other attractions, you might need to call Didi.
Location: There is a Family Mart located in the same row as the hotel, making it easy to buy snacks. My travel dates are May 21, 2024 - May 23, 2024. There is some construction nearby (it seems to be a new metro construction). It’s not noisy but a bit dusty. When walking to Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, you need to walk near the main road and construction site. It can be slightly dangerous, but many people are using the same route.
Laundry: They offer a free laundry service. You can use the washing machine and dryer for free. However, there are only two washing machines and two dryers. Many people use them at night, so you might need to wait when others are using them.
Overall, it is good for a short stay and budget travelers.

YYTZ23We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with our 10 month old during Golden Week.
Pros:
- Hotel is self-contained and there is no need to leave the hotel. There are large and well-maintained grounds for our daily walks with baby, including museums and traditional pagodas dotted throughout the property. There is a chinese, western (steak, pizza) and japanese (teppanyaki) restaurant within the hotel. There is also a kids play room and swimming pool, along with some other kid friendly activities like rabbit feeding and games on the lawn.
- The hotel is right next to the lake and is quite beautiful. It's very relaxing to stroll along the lake.
- There is an ancient town about 15 minutes walk from the hotel's main lobby. There is a free hotel shuttle to and from the ancient town too.
- Staff are generally friendly and helpful
- Large, family-friendly rooms are available. We stayed in a lake view suite, which was just right for us and our baby.
- Hotel is affordable by international standards
- Hotel is less than 2 hours drive from Shanghai, where we live
- We particularly enjoyed the teppenyaki restaurant where you can get a private room and a private chef to cook your meals
- Despite it being Golden Week, we didn't feel that the hotel was too crowded. Perhaps because the hotel has large grounds.
Cons
- The baby cot given to us had an extremely thin and uncomfortable mattress. To compensate, we were given a comforter to pad the mattress. However, this is unsafe for younger babies, who should sleep on a firm surface.
- The property and facilities are a bit dated
- There were very loud weddings on the lawn facing the lake each day that we were at the hotel. The loud music and emceeing disturbed the peaceful ambience of the place, and also disrupted baby's morning and afternoon naps. For families with children who still need to nap in the day, it may be better to stay in a quieter garden view room instead of a room facing the lake.

GGuest UserThere were a few ants in the first room we booked, but after a few screams and a phonecall we were quickly moved to another ant-free room. The staff were so helpful, kind and willing to communicate in English to the best of their ability. They made plenty of gestures with bowls of fruit, fragrant sacks and even a personal delivery of the food menu when we couldn't find the English menu on the TV. Their frequent arrivals had us jumping in our robes to grab the door every so often, but each time we were grateful to receive such thoughtful snacks and smells. Lovely place. Would visit again.

Qqueen_kooIf you’re looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.
1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite “scratchy” material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who aren’t afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they don’t have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesn’t go too loud , I guess it’s good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.
2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind!
3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , I’m quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to survive…I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isn’t exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed.
There’s a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and it’s obvious…I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause it’s not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!!
Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists.
I don’t usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them.
Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but it’s the people that pushed it up.

Sseven_47The room is very spacious, the environment is very good, the simple decoration style, it feels clean and comfortable, the setting is fully equipped, the boss service is good, there is a parking lot, there is a charging pile nearby, breakfast is basic but the taste is not bad. The warm weather in this courtyard must be a good place for leisure, recommended!
