Don’t accidentally lay past your check out time or you will have staff coming into room and shouting in your fav and threatening to calm the police at 5 minutes past check out

I am currently staying here twice per week at least. It is under very sad and stressful circumstances, I need to be close to the hospital, as often as I can afford- I live a 60 mile round trip away. My young family member has been an inpatient for 6 weeks currently, at the local hospital. Positives: Location: I chose this place due to it being very close to King's Mill Hospital. Sadly I cannot stay as often as I would like due to finances. Free parking: loads of spaces,Including disabled bays. Shops :In the same unit are : George's fish and chips ( the haddock is beautiful, its even open on a sunday) Subway ,Tesco express, a tanning shop, Birds bakery ,freshly baked products daily. There is a free cash point outside the Tesco too. Locally there is an Aldi and Morrisons , across the motorway is a Mcdonalds, this is easily accessible. Most of the staff. They go above and beyond for their guests. They are chatty ,friendly approachable and understanding. Cleanliness: the bedrooms are clean and spacious. The beds are so comfortable, pillows plump and soft. Bedding white and crisp. Armchairs also very comfortable . Extremely handy are the USB points on the fixed bedside units. Towels actually wrap around me ! A room fan is welcome,as there is no air-con. The specially darkened curtains also keep the heat out, whenever I arrive the curtains are always thankfully closed- keeping the bedroom lovely and cool. A bottle opener is fixed to the side of the cupboard, very thoughtful. Bathroom.and shower: water is always hot, and shower pressure is great. Bath is nice and deep ( that's my preference but the wheelchair accessible rooms tend to just have a walk in shower, with a pull down seat ) Negatives:: Availability and the sporadic pricing of rooms. There seems to be no set room price, it can range from £25.99 to £121.00 per night ( far too costly) Ringing the Travelodge central phone line : £0.13 P per minute, I was on hold for 10 mins and hung up. I wanted to ask if I could secure a cheaper rate for block booking? I emailed instead but no response. The walk in shower floods. It takes a long time for the water to go down the bathroom floor drain. Signal with the TV. It flickers and pixilates a lot ( I watched films on my mobile) The locals: beggars outside the travelodge, rough sleepers living in tents behind the travelodge. I saw them watching people using the cashpoint ( some elderly) then approaching them ,asking for spare change and cigarettes ( they got a lot of regular donations ) Most are friendly, but one fella in particular is pushy. I've been told that a few of the homeless are placed in the travelodge ( and whilst i have a lot of synpathy for their situations, i didn't want to be kept awake woth them shouting and banging doors all night. This is no fault of the staff, they have no control of this. Noise: if you are on the ground floor, it can get rowdy. I believe this is from locals outside, rather than most hotel residents?

Clean and tidy hotel, our room was clean with no surprises a fan had been provided for the heat combined with thick curtains this keeped the room cool enough at night. Stopped two night's, first night had a problem with people smoking and talking through the night outside our room window, this started at 2.30 am and twice more in the night. Asked reception to ask them to stop the talking and unfortunately the answer what can I do!!!. Things did go quiet in the end. There is a sign saying no smoking outside the hotel and door's but smoker's seem to think this not aimed at them ??. There is an excellent selection of shops on site tesco, subway, chippy and cake shop plus aldi next door.

I stayed here for a couple of nights while working in the area. The room was clean and comfortable and well equipped. The staff were friendly and polite. There is ample parking in the car park, even if you have a van. I would happily stay here again.

Well overpriced. It looks quite dingy and run down inside. The room itself was clean and tidy and the staff were polite. We couldn’t connect to the WiFi which would have been helpful as both our phones struggled for signal. Every time someone switched a TV off it reset the tv in our room.
