The Oceanside, a Coast Hotel
4.3/5100 Reviews
We stayed in a ground floor king room. It had been updated and was very clean. New air conditioning unit, clean shower, nice toiletries and a hairdryer. Shower had great water pressure and a raispout showerhead. The room had a spectacular view. The outdoor chairs were comfortable and the sunset can't be beat. It was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to the Sunshine Coast.
Driftwood Inn
3.6/597 Reviews
The Beachside Kitchen Bar in the Driftwood Inn offers an outstanding meal, Chinese or western, with a lovely seaside view, and prompt, efficient and friendly service. Bonus - Wine prices are reasonable and they are often not busy for eat-in, although take-out is also great.
Rockwater Secret Cove Resort
3.9/596 Reviews
In addition to some twists and turns in the reservation, the hotel began to say that it did not receive the money, and later found that I had set the water view, but the order received by the hotel was a higher-level waterfront, and there was a price difference. Later, it was finally solved. After I checked in, I found that there was actually a good view of No. 58, and the sound of the sea was not noisy. Others were either blocked by trees or too close to the water. Choosing water views is also a good choice, and the price is more affordable. There is no restaurant near the hotel, so I choose to dine at the hotel and the taste is OK. Breakfast is also ok.
Gibsons Garden Hotel
4.3/5100 Reviews
We decided to do the 'Circle Route' from Comox Little River Ferry, through the Sunshine Coast, then from Vancouver to Nanaimo, and back up to the Comox Valley. Since we never drove the Sunshine Coast before, we didn't reserve overnight accommodation thinking there was plenty of hotels...wrong decision! Anyways, as the sun set into darkness, we went on-line and found the Gibson Garden Hotel, and even better was that they offered a 'Last Minute Deal' price, so we reserved a room and continued driving until arrival. Once there, we were warmly greeted by Emily who quickly checked us in and explained how things worked. When we opened our hotel room (3rd Floor Mezzanine) we were very impressed with a large bed and new linen sheets. There was TWO padded comfortable chairs (why do hotels usually give just one chair??) and a table, which was perfect as we enjoyed a late night snack right in our room. The bathroom was large enough, bath products in wall dispensers, and hot water and newer towels. The A/C unit worked very well, the fridge was cold, the TV had plenty of channels, and in the morning the coffee maker did the trick. And best of all, the pool is large, wonderful, warm and very refreshing. For sure I would recommend the Gibson Garden Hotel, and if we do the Sunshine Coast again, we'll pre-book here before leaving home! Cheers, Paul
