Regarding my stay at Hampton Inn Sumter it was extremely disappointing but unsafe, unsanitary, and in violation of basic guest standards. My room on the third floor was directly adjacent to ongoing construction where workers applied wallpaper with strong adhesive. Fumes from the adhesive caused severe headaches and made the room uninhabitable. Even after being assured work had ended, the fumes returned the next day. There was drywall dust which covered floors and hallways, and construction equipment obstructed guest pathways. Workers were observed consuming alcohol on the job. Attached photos show an empty beer bottle among supplies and debris in areas accessible to guests. The hotel lost running water due to a busted pipe, leaving guests without showers, toilets, or access to basic hygiene. Hotel management informed guests that plumbers would not arrive until the following morning, and no alternative accommodations or refunds were offered. Despite being relocated to another floor after my initial complaint, the relocation did not resolve the overall issues. Also they have random homeless people who walk in and help themselves to breakfast. I had one homeless lady ask me to pour her orange juice before being rushed out by the front desk associate. This stay exposed me to chemical hazards, unsafe working conditions, and unsanitary facilities, which are unacceptable for paying guests. Guests should never face these conditions, and this represents a serious lapse in health, safety, and consumer respect/care. Avoid this dump at all costs.

Short stay ...pretty comfy. Fitness room was adequate....treadmill, elliptical and cycle, plus free weights. Could be crowded if more than 5 people were in it. But...it served its purpose. Missed breakfast, but coffee was good enough !

The staff were amazing, Ms.Susie, Doug and Eric made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. We will stay at this location again when we come back.

There was a construction going on during my stay. I was not aware at the booking time. The construction area was not separated by a construction curtain or something, getting out of the elevator was disastrous, we encounter with furniture, paint and mess all over, it was so bad for the name of the hotel. The chemical smell (of paint or something else) was overwhelming. The laundry room was dirty. The cleanliness of the restroom was below the standards. The breakfast was fine with waffles that my kids enjoyed. The front desk was friendly.

This was the absolute worst stay at a Hilton property! Booked a connecting room 4 week ago. When I called the hotel to confirm (I always do), I was told no connecting rooms available. The manager, Angela, was rude and no help. When i arrived, my rooms had been changed to a different floor. Imagine my disappointment when I went to the floor and found total chaos with construction!! A coincidence, hmmmm. I reported an issue with the dead bolt, but didn’t receive a response until hours later. This hotel needs to be shut down until all construction is complete!! Horrible experience. I will never be back!

Walked into the room, the receptionist was not very friendly at all. Snappy attitude. Was finally sent to my room which had the strongest smell of mildew i have ever smelled and it was overwhelming. She sprayed some air freshener but of course, it was a 10 minute fix. The smell was right back afterwards. She apologized- but that didnt help. These rooms should not be rented out to anyone. This is very toxic for Someone with asthma.

I was really impressed with The Hampton Inn. The staff at the front desk was great, especially Bella. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. I gave this hotel 10 for all the categories.

Confortale overnight Stay away frim room next to elevator. 103. Hard bangubg sound everyrume lift moves. Appart from that all fine. Staff noved us after complaibt. Breakfast great. Staff hekofull

It appears they did an update at this hotel, but it was not a good makeover. Paint all over walls and never cleaned up. Furniture was not updated. Photos are not true. Don’t expect any of the amenities they picture to be found in your room. Minimalist at best breakfast food not cooked well raw potatoes under cooked ham. They charge without your knowledge, and not listed in the Hilton website, a $3 a night”Amenity” charge for having a pool and fitness center. I called the question to charge and the manager stated to me sister to what resorts have we charge three dollars for the use of our pool and fitness center. I stated I didn’t use either and she’s up with his but we always charge. I informed her that it doesn’t state discharge on the website and she stated it should. We’ve been doing this for two years. Essentially, they are scamming people out an additional three dollars even if the pools closed on top of it. In speaking with several town people and a police officer, they said there are better and safer places to stay in town. Check out the Tru or Springdale Suites. I will never return to this place again
