The Mill Hotel

Impressive old Mill with working wheel featured inside. We were in the top floor of the main building and whilst not the most up to date bedroom accommodation it was clean and comfortable with workable facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast buffet with both continental and full English breakfast options. Would definitely recommend and worked for us due to location to friends and family. Great value for money.

Its ok but the teams are unable to see that the cars prevent customers paying for rooms at the right price. Many staff have cars in board levels to appease this . Leadership is not driving a car. Weaather a customer or a ceo of any hotel . Maany cR dealers and sales teans held against thuer needs to appease a government nany times wrong prior. Leadership not words Model the national intrest. A truthfull finding is internationaal respect by the roads of honest trade.

A lovely hotel by the river, an abundance of wildlife on the meadows, cows, ducks and lots of people walking their dogs. my room was amazing, quite large, kind of in a horseshoe shape, big comfy bed. coffee machine, kettle etc, ironing board, iron, plenty of seating, lots of windows so nice and bright. pedestal fan also. only thing I'd suggest would be a bottle of water too. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and came across a chocolate message on a plate with fruit and macarons. how lovely!!! Breakfast was delicious with a piping hot buffet and the usual toast, cereal, juice etc. eggs cooked to order. I'd had an evening meal with family there the night before, so was a little full, but managed ok! Extremely helpful and friendly staff, receptionist went about and beyond on a matter for the evening meal, which was very much appreciated. I will definitely return in the future and highly recommend the Mill Hotel Sudbury. Thank you!

Travelled down from Scotland with my wife for a friends wedding and spent two days at the Mill during one of the hottest weekends of the year. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially Megan at reception who helped us book taxis to the event. The rooms were basic but clean and tidy, with the only downside being no AC. The setting is beautiful and very picturesque and the elevated terrace affords lovely views over the meadow. Overall we had a great time and were very happy with our choice of hotel. Thanks to all the hardworking staff who made our visit a pleasure

This is a nice hotel in a charming location and it has good features . Staff in reception , bar and restaurant all very attentive and helpful . Our room disappointing . Incredibly hot and only window faced and opened towards terrace bar . Decor unexciting and nowhere to hang towels . Perhaps better when no heatwave .

The mill hotel has the most scenic views in Sudbury from their terrace so thought we would visit again with the warmer weather. On arrival other than the hotel check in desk there’s not really any ‘front of house’ in the restaurant it’s order at the bar or find a table and order on the QR code. In the bar there were a lot of loud drinkers on a Saturday afternoon which we were trying to avoid by not going to a ‘sports pub’ this continued onto the terrace so we opted to sit out the front of the hotel which was much quieter. We opted to order our drinks to the table then decided after looking at the menu to order food but my husband did this at the bar as we could ask about dishes and in the past at other places dishes have been out of stock. Our drinks arrived promptly served nicely and our food was only about a 25 minute wait. The small plates we ordered were delicious and perfect for a light meal the hand cut chunky chips were wedges which I was fine with but they may want to change this on their menu. We also had the bao bun/s which were ok but lacked flavour probably why they were served with kimchi which was overly spicy. The waiter tried to take our food board away without asking if we were finished and which still had some food on which he apologised for. All in all a nice spot to eat but I really do feel for a historic hotel in the location they have they are missing that extra special experience for their guests.
