I recently stayed at Summit Hotel USJ during a work trip to the Glenmarie/Shah Alam area, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Before this, I usually stayed at hotels closer to my business venues, but after a bit of searching, I came across Summit Hotel USJ in Subang Jaya, just 3-4 km from Glenmarie. The price was much more affordable compared to the hotels I had stayed in previously—almost RM100 cheaper per night, which is a great deal for a room priced between RM100-RM150, especially with a bathtub.
While the hotel is a bit outdated, it’s still perfectly acceptable for a short stay, and the value for money is hard to beat. One thing to note, though, if you’re not a smoker, make sure to request a non-smoking room, as I was initially assigned to a smoking room, which wasn’t ideal.
The hotel offers convenient in-building parking, and there’s a mall right next door, which is handy for shopping or dining. The food at the hotel restaurant was also quite good, which was a pleasant surprise.
The cleanliness could be improved a bit, but overall, given the price, it’s a solid option for anyone needing a comfortable, budget-friendly place to stay in the area. I’d definitely consider staying here again for future work trips!
