Fabulous location, just across from Knoll Beach.
Tasty breakfast. Loved the retro, quirky feel of the hotel and its fabulous sea views. It would be nice if the new owners spent money on improving and refurbishing the hotel as is, rather than on trying to turn it into something different.

Lovely location, view towards Old Harry rocks is wonderful
Used the indoor pool and sauna
Was very relaxing
Menu choice limited as had run out of lots of the dishes on the menu
Service quite slow an hour wait between starter and mains
Room pleasant
Car parking difficult and couldn’t get a space near our garden room so had to walk across uneven surfaces and not well lit

A one time grand-ish hotel is now looking a little tired but it’s in a great spot, perfect for walking and water sports. Staff friendly and helpful. Waiting service needs polishing. Restaurant food good.

Friendly and welcoming on arrival. Court yard room with own front door which was great. Lovely breakfast - self service. Although we did not use facilities there was a games room, lounge, indoor small pool, large out door pool, tennis court, pitch and put/ mini golf course. Views were amazing.

Traditional hotel. Quaint & quirky but a lovely feel to it. Our Cosy inland room was far too small. I would suggest not booking the cheapest room. Would have booked a bigger room but hotel was full. Food good. Enjoyable stay.

My son and I visited. We went prepared for the bedroom to be a little on the old fashioned side. It did not bother us at all. It’s characterful and a bit like stepping back in time. Not in a bad way, everything was clean, efficient. We had lots of info and support from staff, lots of facilities to use. Swimming pool etc. the food was lovely and breakfast a great buffet. The staff work really hard to make everyone’s experience gold. The bedroom has stunning views and nice comfortable clean bed. There’s an entertainment room, lounges, bar, restaurant and obviously the swimming facilities with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Rooms are sound proofed well and at night it was so dark and quiet. I have to open a curtain to let natural light in and heard an owl. A stones throw from beach and forest. We will defo be visiting again.

Stayed here with the Mrs for one night, first impression of the place really wasn't great, the 1950's style layout of the hotel reminded me of a mix of a run down butlins and a depressing old folks home!...the courtyard, horse shoe shaped layout, with table and chairs outside, was not for us!!...the whole place is run down and in desperate need of renovating, that said the room we had was clean and had recently been decorated but had old worn out furnishings! The breakfast was very nice, a buffet style, cooked breakfast with all you could want, with amazing views. Great location and the staff seemed freindly but its way too expensive for what it is, lower the prices or renovate and bring back up to date! and be more open and honest on your website about what guests are to expect! ....the whole 1950's butlins chalet type layout with run down exterior and interior in most parts of the hotel should be made clear !....the spa facilities are a joke, the outside swimming pool looked dirty and green, a bit grim to be honest but a mix of good and bad in a great location. Work on those first impressions!!
