Burleigh Court, Sunday Lunch. From our welcome by Josh (thank you for taking care of us right the way through) what a wonderful few hours we spent at Burleigh Court. Sunday Lunch was excellent. Husband had mullet as a starter he thought it was outstanding and I had an absolutely delicious butternut squash soup as my starter, the brown bread was so flavoursome too. For our main course we chose lamb and beef, both meats were succulent and melted in the mouth, served with the most delicious gravy and all the trimmings. The vegetables had a wonderful fresh taste and the roast potatoes had a wonderful crispness. Thank you to Chef and all the team at Burleigh Court. We will be back and lucky enough to live locally.

Went to Burleigh Court after the recent refurbishment & wow what a transformation. We went in to " The Fifty" Restaurant & was very well looked after by Liz. We had the most amazing meals served very promptly too. Liz looked after us from start to finish & we can't praise her highly enough, She is a credit to Burleigh Court. Gin Tonic fish & chips plus The Pork trio were superb they were our mains whilst we both had garlic & herb mushrooms for a starter. All the staff are awesome & very attentive to our needs. The food really is amazing. Thank you Liz & Kate for helping us to have a really enjoyable evening.

A little gem, in a lovely setting, with well appointed rooms and fantastic food. The staff are personable and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and our stay could not have been more enjoyable. I would like to keep this hotel secret, but it would be uncharitable to so.

Booked for Sunday lunch for our anniversary. Arrived early and shown to lounge area. Very slow coming to ask us for drinks whilst we waited. Once in restaurant there was a very odd smell. Similar to body odor. We decided against starters. Order our mains. Wine menu was given at same time as other menu but I wasn't asked what wine if any I wanted. It took me ages to 'catch' someone's eye to order it. Food arrived still no wine. It finally arrived quiet a while after main meal was served. Food was just 'nice'. I expected a bit more wow factor after reading web site and Instagram. Service was very slow. Asking for the bill was a task and we were last of two tables. Such a shame as lovely setting for the Manor. Wasn't made to feel looked after and had driven over an hour to get a average Sunday lunch. Wasn't asked if everything was to our satisfaction just handed card reader with service charge automatically added.

Our overall opinion of Burleigh Court Hotel was underwhelming. First of all it was difficult to find, our sat nav did not take us to the hotel and we had to call for directions. It was poorly signposted and easy to miss. The view was average, not exactly stunning as described on the website, it was mostly obscured by trees. Our room and ensuite could have done with a makeover and lacked a dressing table. The food, however, was excellent, although the waitress did not know what the 'cheese savoury sandwich' was on the menu. Turns out it was just a cheese sandwich!. There was also some confusion over the availability of the wine we requested which was on special offer. Eventually the waiter decided it was not available and we had to pay full price for another one. The whole experience was disappointing and could have been so much better. We will not be returning.

The views and general ambience were lovely. The sandwiches and scones (including the vegan one, what a treat!) were delicious but the cakes were not that special for the price. We had to ask twice for the extra sandwiches we’d pre-ordered and they eventually turned up when we’d almost finished. The staff were friendly but we were not overly impressed by the service. Beautiful setting though.

The views would be amazing but the tress are so tall you don’t get the wow factor of the view. The food didn’t reach my expectations it was Luke Warm and visual unappealing let along the portions sizes which were minimal. It didn’t send the taste buds into heaven that’s for sure . The restaurant manager was rude, ignorant and needs a year’s training in customer service. His attitude towards our table was awful, spoilt our evening and we did not stay for dessert. This hotel is well overpriced for what you get. Around the Stroud valleys there are more welcoming places to eat . Would we return NO .

We recently stayed at this hotel for our wedding anniversary and have to say, this hotel is outstanding! We were made to feel very welcome from the start, staff were excellent with good attention to detail. There is a lovely outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna, all situated within the well kept grounds. Our dinning experience was nothing short of excellent, fantastic presentation and all at very reasonable cost! Wine list was also surprisingly reasonable with a good choice! Our room was beautifully decorated with fantastic views of the local countryside. Breakfast was again excellent, ingredients all local with exception of the wonderful Stornaway black pudding, extremely tasty! This hotel is great for a nice quiet and chilled getaway, a place we can thoroughly recommend and although only an hour away from home, we will undoubtedly return to again.
