Surprisingly large room in an old property, and updated on all important equipment. Brilliant shower. Excellent bed. Heating was actually too enthusiastic, but turned down well. Ask about stairs on check-in if you have baggage. Uphill from town and station, but not difficult.

Two nights stay whilst running a powerlifting meet at a nearby Fortress Gym, and we were impressed by the hospitality. South West warmth ins ervice, extra pillows on request, good beds and comfy night's sleep. The adjacent restaurant was also a positive experience. And it's a unique place for Premier Inn, as it's a renovated stone building, not the purpose built generic Premier Inns. And we had a proper shower also, not one with bath. Recommend!

Arrived late after delayed trains, although we were still early & were greeted upon arrival with our keycard before 3! We were on the ground floor in room 5, nicely situated. There was a bit of a whiff coming from the bathroom, but we were happy with the room so left it at that. However, we came back one night to find we’d left the bathroom door ajar, the stench was 🤢 Good, hot walk in shower, with lovely shower gel & poo. Extra pillows were above the wardrobe. Very comfy they were too, as was the bed. On the 2nd night I had the elephant in the room above me. I’m baffled as to where they were marching up & down to for hours, although the rooms are a decent enough size but they weren’t that big! USB port’s a nice touch at the side of the bed, ideal for your iPhone. Although they didn’t all work, this is where the previous poster must’ve got confused. There’s no thermostat on the wall to work the heating, but there’s a radiator behind the curtain that you can put on. If you need any more drinks (not alcohol) you can help yourself from reception or ask in the dining room. It was lovely to have our breakfast cooked each morning. There wasn’t any heating on though so it was cold by the windows. It’s a massive, & very pleasant dining area, we actually thought it was 2 separate places. So instead of coming out of our room & going left just past reception, we were going all the way around across the car park 🤭 All staff were friendly & worked hard to make us welcome.

My room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Only a shower, no bath. Plugs near the bed are only usb which is no good for iphone users. Room was warm and good blackout curtains. There is no lift and it was a long corridor and 2 flights of stairs to get to my room. There was leak in the hallway while I was there which meant I had to go up more steps to get to reception. There is a Brewers Fayre next door, but I did not eat there. There is parking and it was a good location for what I needed.

Room was very good, blackout curtains great bed and nice Samsung TV, but if you want to watch any of the streaming services you have to pay for faster broadband. Food on the other hand was below average, cold chips and yellow peas that had been either reheated from previous day or sat all day in a Bain Marie. Won’t be returning
