This charming pub was located on a one way system with car park at the back. Location address should have been for car park - as I am disabled had to park mikes away and walk with bags. Booked in and went to room - nice room basic but adequate for my trip - advised would be leaving early each day. Came back after first night - no clean towels or servicing to room - this continued for whole trip , was expecting some service even if it was emptying rubbish and replenishment of toiletries and tea making facilities. As I arrived back late at night and left early on morning each day there was no means of communicating with main pub. Overall the experience was ok but some service would have made it better.

Very comfortable room with plenty of space and a nice deep bath! Bed was comfy and plenty of onsite parking made arrival nice and easy. Check in staff were polite and when I popped down to the pub for a pint everyone was very friendly. I'd definitely use again.

Not impressed. Initially when told breakfast starts at 10:00, a bit late when i have 10:00 am appointments, also on website let to believe breakfast was include in the room but when checked in no included. The property is not suitable for those with disabilities or poor mobility issues, starts with having to step on a step to open a heavy door but as the door opens out it pushes you off the step. There is no lift access, so you are not asked any mobility issues. Stairwell looks grubby and unappealing . Room this is in need of some urgent decoration and renovation, paint looking old and tarnished, window frame is rotten. Difficulty to shut the curtain as you have to climb on a high bed and reach over, curtains not fitted properly, hanging off on one side and don't slide easily. Light comes in so room not darkened. Light from corridor comes in the room from gap under the door making a disturbed night because of light. Only lights in the room are on the wall opposite the bed, so not good to use to sit at desk and do work on computer, no table light on table, if put light on at is directly in your face. water from shower comes out very slow. The shower has a large base to get into, not good with people of poor mobility, the shower door opens inwards making it difficult to open and close when getting in and out of the shower, could do with a mind your step or yellow warning markers Good things Pillows and mattress was comfortable, and bed linen felt nice and comfortable. Meal in restaurant was ok but took a while to come. Overall not likely to stay at the Crown Inn again, even though i am likely to come to Swindon in the future.

Would not stay again The reason for my visit was to attend a professional conference being held at a venue nearby. As such things routinely do, the conference was scheduled to begin at 0900. Unfortunately, as I discovered when I checked in, The Crown does not offer breakfast until 10.0am, so I had to leave with no more in the way of breakfast than the complementary sachet of nescafe. Additionally, the standard of maintenance was poor - an electric socket was broken leading to concern of possible accidental electrocution and the shower head holder was broken, making it difficult to have a satisfactory shower, especially when you are as tall as me - 6ft 4in
