Ben Wyvis Hotel

The facilities were all that we expected and needed. The food was excellent (the roast beef was cooked properly and not raw, as it is in some establishments). The staff were also excellent - very polite and helpful. They also tended to say 'You're welcome' - not the much too common 'No problem'. That was lovely to hear and made us actually feel welcome!

Hotel very run down and in need of refurbishment. Room extremely basic. Beds, free standing wardrobe, chair and dressing table with kettle and hairdryer. First room had no heating. Moved to second floor room which was warmer.

This hotel is historic and interesting - very grand! The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended. A perfect place to go in autumn - the trees in the grounds were stunning. And lovely views. Friendly service too.

We celebrated our wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast at the Ben Wyvis Hotel on 17th September and from the first moment of contact with the Ben Wyvis Hotel we were so impressed. Debbie the Manager made everything stress free and went above and beyond to make our day so special and memorable. Debbie’s wealth of experience running events certainly showed. Nothing was too much trouble for her or her team. A special mention to Ashley too for looking after us so well. At the time of booking our wedding, Debbie did inform us they had a coach party however, she assured us we would still have their undivided attention throughout our wedding and stay, which Debbie and the team certainly provided. We had a room for me to get ready which was perfect with the added bonus of amazing views. Our honey moon suite was perfect. Exceptionally clean and beautifully presented. Our wedding dinner was delicious and could not be faulted with excellent service and the breakfast was tasty too. With breathtaking scenery for our photos, we can highly recommend Ben Wyvis Hotel. A wonderful experience! Beautiful castle setting in an adorable country town in Scotland. Amazing staff who are kind and helpful. Debbie checked us in and was absolutely fantastic, fun and accommodating! Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend!

Must have been a magnificent hotel once but it isn’t any more. The whole place is decayed and neglected. My room looked out onto part of the building which had a flat roof. Evidently leaking, this had an ancient tarpaulin anchored by several old wooden planks. The carpets are threadbare and held together in places by parcel tape. The “scrambled egg” at breakfast was grossly overcooked into a dreadful rubbery mass. I was on a touring holiday and had stayed at several places. Ben Wyvis was not only the worst but also, by some margin, the most expensive. Really very poor.
