This is honestly the best hotell I've stayed at. A special thanks to the owners, manager and all the staff who made our stay unforgettable. Our group really appreciated the personal service, we felt really taken care of during our whole stay. The house is gorgeous, as are the rooms which have the most incredibly comfortable bed! We especially enjoyed reading the yearly progress reports we found in a folder in our rooms! The food served here is delicious as well. Breakfast was perfect and we really loved that it was cooked to order rather than buffet style. We had dinner 2 of the nights we stayed and the food was just exceptional, the homemade bread and ice cream especially so. We will definitely be back!

Everything about Coul House is lovely, grounds (magnificent trees and fairy walk), staff, food, building. There is not much to say other than you have to experience it. But. The bedroom and bathroom were so small it was hard to really enjoy using them. Biggest drawback was the price, overpriced for what it is.

Perfect location as a hub for exploring the Highlands.It’s just outside the tiny village of Contin,set in idyllic grounds with amazing views,especially from the dining room and rooms that are on the back of the hotel.The service was very friendly and the food was excellent.The room was very small but the queen size bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nicely modernized.Expensive but worth it

The best hotel near Inverness. Beautiful building , grounds, and dining rooms; excellent modern baths, simple but comfortable bedrooms. Fine service. A great base for visiting the Highlands. The restaurant is very good as well. There is a pretty hike from the hotel to the nearby Loch Kinellan and the pretty Victorian Spa town of Strathpeffer, but be sure to have an Ordinance Survey app on your phone, it is easy to take a wrong turn when following written directions. The nearby Ruggie Falls is worth visiting, 10 minutes by car or 45 minutes by a mix of paths and forest service roads - again, it is easy to take a wrong turn without a good trail map.

A delightful experience. We happened to see the hotel sign when touring and drove up to explore. The charm of this beautiful property was complemented by the warm hospitality and wonderful service, we were only there for coffee but will be back for a stay and to enjoy the full menu.

What a beautiful place to stay. We had already pre planned our driving trip around Scotland, otherwise we would have loved to stay longer at Coul House. Stuart and Susannah and their staff were all great hosts, very friendly, efficient and professional. A great team. Our room was very comfortable, very clean and cosy. The hotel has a lovely ambience, which is very welcoming. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was brilliant. Many thanks for an excellent couple of days.

Family of Scots who live in America over for golf and visiting parts of Scotland for first time. Chose Coul house as a base for a few days and what a delight. Rooms were fabulous, location amazing, food really, really scrumptious, staff brilliant and owners top notch. I can’t speak highly enough about the time we got to spend there and would recommend staying to everyone. We had a great trip to Scotland made better by staying at Coul house. Thanks Neil

Thank you so much for every comfort the lovely owners and their team provided during our short but wonderful stay. The house is beautiful, very well restored and refurbished, a very warm welcome was received immediately upon arrival. The offer of help with the bags, fresh milk for tea in the room, and what a room and bathroom, large, stylish, and filled with luxury products. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was exceptional served by a friend waitress, enjoyed in a lovely atmosphere. We strolled round the grounds, and sat in the garden admiring the hotel and in awe of the dedication of the owners. (Take time to read the info folder in the room, such a page turner about the history of the hotel). I cannot wait to return. No faults to be found, and I do like things to be done properly!

We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful hotel for our first anniversary. Room 16 was perfect - spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a great view and the bath had a hidden TV screen above it! The owners and staff were all superb – seamlessly efficient, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was also amazing, with imaginative and delicious flavours, easily worthy of a Michelin star.
