Is very old hotel, like 500 years ago with quirky historical rooms and a very good restaurant and bar at the ground level. The service personal is nice and very helpful. If you like to live in a true historic place and eat well it’s a good choice for you.

A very good hotel, old-school and stylish. The staff is warm and friendly. It is only a few minutes walk from the attractions. The price is also reasonable. Highly recommended!

The only thing going for this hotel is its location…everything else veers instantaneously and hilariously towards very average. certainly not Boutique…’recently refurbished’ is another classic line from these kinds of establishments, over sell and under achieve in equal measure. The staff were friendly enough although I am convinced the manager was allucinating & I think the rest of them were on release from the young offenders. Overall a tragic comedy 5 stars

Let’s start with the positive points first. Good check in . Room was okay clean etc. breakfast was excellent. Now the negatives. I Booked the room direct to get free breakfast. When ordering the breakfast I was told it’s only the continental breakfast which was included not full English. Interesting this was not clear and I feel I’ve been miss sold the room. Anyways it gets worse. When the bill came out for the breakfast they also charged me for a coffee. Feeling really angry I said to the waitress is coffee not included if I had the continental it was included the waitress said. Shame about the miss leading information.

We have stayed in The Townhouse before, but this time we noticed that it needs some TLC, also another disappointing thing, last time we were told if you book direct with us the breakfast is included in the price. We enjoyed a full English Breakfast, so this time I booked directly again, expecting the same, but was told only the continental breakfast was included. We had to pay for the full English, I think they should make it clear in the future. Our room was not in great shape; the carpet was dirty, paint was peeling off the walls, and we couldn't pull up the blind at the window because it was broken and nearly coming away from the wall. The main staircase carpet was threadbare and dirty. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this hotel we will try other places for our yearly visit to the area. Some positives are the location is great and the bar and restaurant areas downstairs is nice. The breakfast was good and the staff were very polite.

Room itself was nice but there were a few stains on the carpet and the shower must have had some blocked bits on the nozzle because it would spit out everywhere.
