This hotel was recommended to me by a colleague who had stayed there several times... Unfortunately, only a few rooms were available via the booking tool. When I arrived in the evening, the hotel appeared to have a large private parking lot. Once inside, I was assigned a duplex room. Downstairs a small living room with kitchenette, via a staircase you had the bed on a mezzanine with a small bathroom behind it. The heating was on in the room, and the extractor fan in the bathroom was also on. When I had put everything in place, and turned off the extractor fan in the bathroom (which was quite noisy), a very strong (food) smell came towards me. Unfortunately, the smell was unbearable and I went to ask for a room change. Fortunately, they had another room (again a duplex model) where I could move in. Super service from the man at the reception! In the other room, however, the heating was on a sleep mode - a single radiator that has to heat a 2-storey high room, and another small radiator in the bathroom. With freezing temperatures outside, it was unfortunately only the 3rd evening that I was there "pleasantly warm". The first evenings I immediately put an extra duvet (from the cupboard) on the bed to be warm... The bathroom was (very) small and looks rather outdated - see photo that I have attached. If you want to shower, you have to do this in a narrow bath with a shower curtain, unfortunately there is rather little space and that curtain sticks to your body almost all the time... Unfortunately, there was only one hook to hang your towel safely on. There was a 2nd hook, between the bath and the toilet, but I did not find this particularly practical and hygienic. I did get my towels replaced every day. The breakfast was ok, but unfortunately not more than that. Coffee was served by (again) a very friendly waiter, but the rest was in my opinion very limited. There were mini croissants, mini chocolate rolls and 1 other type of rolls. But that was it. Also in terms of toppings there was only a very limited choice, and if you wanted chocolate spread or jelly, you had to make do with what was in the bowl on the table (2 tubs of jelly + 2 tubs of chocolate spread). I did not see bacon, eggs, warm tomatoes or other warm breakfast, it was not suggested either. All in all an okay stay, but that was it. I would find this acceptable in an Ibis Budget, but I expected more here.
