Property Description
Welcome to the Stone House at Beaver Creek located in beautiful Lancaster County. This historical home built in 1840 has been fully renovated with all modern conveniences. It boasts 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 1 half bath, and sleeps up to 8 guests. It is fully furnished throughout with everything you'll need for a relaxing stay or family vacation. Come and relax in the cool breeze on Beaver Creek or kick back with a book. Enjoy the beautiful views, peace, and tranquility. The space The Fisher family, who reside on the Amish farm across the street, are the proud owners and caretakers of this charming residence. Originally constructed in 1840 by early settlers seeking to establish themselves near Martinsville Village and Beaver Creek, this two-story dwelling was crafted from creek bed stone and surrounded by farmland. The rich soil, plentiful timber, water sources, and wildlife helped the settlers thrive. Notably, it is one of the few surviving structures from the area's earliest days, with the original well still standing beside it, thoughtfully safeguarded to prevent accidents. During the 1890s, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company laid tracks through the villages and farms using eminent domain. The route remained active for nearly a century until its removal in the 1980s. The land was gradually returned to the farming families, and the Stone House's property was the last to be repurchased this year. The bridge supports in the creek behind the home and the graded earth where the tracks once lay are a reminder of the railroad's presence. In the 1950s, an extension containing a kitchen and dining room was added to the Stone House, and in 2020, it underwent a complete renovation. After serving as a private vacation residence for two years, it was purchased by Isaac and Linda Fisher. The Fishers extend a warm welcome to visitors and are available to assist with any needs that may arise during your stay. Guest access Guests have access to the property except for the nearby sheds. Beaver Creek is also accessible during times of low water but please be mindful of the steep slopes and slippery rocks. If the water is high or running fast please do not attempt to ford the stream. Fishing is allowed if you obtain a Pennsylvania fishing license. Please always be vigilant and take the highest safety precautions. Other things to note Bedrooms 2 and 3 on the 2nd floor are small as this is located in the original stone house. The Master bedroom has ample room. From time to time, the Fisher family may need to access the basement of the home. However, the egress is outside so they will enter from the cellar doors and leave you undisturbed. In addition, locals will sometimes fish on Beaver Creek. The bridge serves as a public access point. They will remain on the creek and not enter the property. Overall it was a great stay. But not perfect - the showers were not a good experience(low pressure and very fine stream). The listing also noted shampoo and conditioner were provided, but we’re not. The welcome packet has the wrong WiFi password. It would be nice if the kitchen had a toaster vs a toaster oven. Also, the property manager did not reply to text messages.

Great location! Quiet looking at a beautiful farm. Easy access to Strasburg and Lancaster. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only problem was being unable to log in to the WiFi but it’s good to unplug, right?! The homemade bread and butter was a really special and delicious touch! Thank you!

Farm Charm with Modern Amenities We decided to stay at this property due to its location to Sight & Sound. It was the perfect country get away! They have restored this home with beautiful hardwood floors, and a modern and spacious kitchen. The back deck was lovely, as well as the rocking chairs in the front. A little cafe was just down the street and we enjoyed watching for horse and buggy, listening to all the local farm animals and seeing the fireflies at night. A truly peaceful stay. Our host was very responsive and left freshly baked bread, butter and cookies for us upon arrival. It is important to note that two of the bedrooms upstairs are a bit tight. We knew this going in, but just something to be aware of.

This is one of the nicest VRBO's we've ever stayed at. Clean, well-stocked (including extra linens, towels, and blankets), beautifully decorated, a helpful binder with local information (places to eat, emergency information, etc)... absolutely wonderful!! The garden is gorgeous and the creek peaceful and lovely. We hope to visit again!

There is no better place stay. Nothing negative about the place. Has everything you could possibly need and then some. Homemade snacks when you check in......cannot get that service at a local hotel!
