We had a wonderful stay at Alan & Elaine’s guesthouse! The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was powerful and refreshing, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everything was spotless and welcoming, a perfect place to relax and feel at home. Highly recommend for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

My husband and I booked in for one night. Very good room rate. Our host was very friendly and chatty. Didn’t meet her husband. We stayed in a double room. It was quite small but ok for just one night. Everything was clean. Lovely big shower. Just didn’t like the sink being in the bedroom instead of the bathroom. It was inconvenient especially seeing as the towel rail was in the bathroom. We really appreciated the drams of whisky left for us. The breakfast choice was very good and the food very tasty indeed. We really enjoyed it. We got parked right outside so it was ideal.

Clearly experienced hosts. Everything well thought out and very comfortable. Great breakfast. Décor and shower were fab. We had 2 rooms which were slightly separate from the others and had a door separating them from the rest of the house. Perfect for our family. Quiet and a very convenient location. Free parking outside. Loved the special touches of Tunnock's Teacakes and a wee dream of whisky in the room for us!

My friend and I booked this accommodation well in advance for the Skiffie Worlds 2025 and let me tell you we lucked out with this one! Elaine and Alan are genuinely brilliant hosts, they’re so accommodating and helpful. Our rooms were luxurious, with comfy beds and they were spotlessly clean too. There was good variety on the breakfast menu to cater for different tastes and the food was lovely too. Thanks for a memorable stay Elaine and Alan. I don’t often write reviews but I felt I had to on this occasion. If I’m ever in Stranraer again, your B&B is my first port of call. Hopefully see you in 2028 for Skiffies again! Gillian (Rm 2)

The hosts, Elaine and Alan, went out of their way to make my stay super comfortable. The room was lovely and also quiet. The hosts were welcoming and very helpful. Alan even, very kindly, drove me to the railway station in the morning

Such a charming and beautifully appointed room. Welcoming hosts. Easy parking. Opposite a park where we enjoyed stretching our legs waterside.
We also appreciated being the gluten free breakfast options.

We are a family of 4 traveling through 4 countries for 2 weeks. This was our favorite! Upon checkin, Alan met us and showed us to our room. He was so friendly and welcoming. We had the family suite. It was so beautiful and comfortable! Each kid had their own twin bed, and they loved it! Windows opened to hear the seagulls and cars below, and let in the cool sea breeze. There was plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was very clean and perfect for us. We ordered the full breakfast the next morning - what a delight! Elaina was very nice and made sure we pronounced “Edinburgh” correctly before leaving, haha! This place is walkable to everything in town you’d want to see. We hope to visit again one day.
