Had an excellent stay here, the staff were really friendly and helpful and it was in a good location for the town centre

Stayed at the hotel for its close proximity to the Cairnryan Port due to an early ferry departure the following morning. We had a comfortable room fit for our needs, with ample space for the family. There is a car park onsite. We arrived late and left early, so weren't able to use the facilities, but the areas we did see were well presented. They were kindly able to arrange a takeaway breakfast for us, as we were leaving before breakfast was served.

This hotel is old fashioned, it has old decor, a curling rink, swimming pool and my children lived staying here. Beware breakfast is served until 9.45am and they have cleared the buffet away by 10am so you have little time to actually eat.

We had a brilliant stay here. The place is dated with regard to decor but that actually works in its favour, especially as it’s immaculately clean and in good condition. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful especially Mo and Oliver. Lovely views across the loch, very comfy beds, great shower pressure, decent food and sensible bar prices. The only slight negative is it’s very warm! 100% we’ll be back.

Won’t lie we expected more with the name title. The Sunday meal was frozen vegetables served with meat & gravy which had no taste & we left so much on our plate as expected more. We did think we was visiting a castle but it’s just in the name. The place is outdated and we will not be returning.

Once again spent a most enjoyable jazz weekend here.It has the friendliest staff we have ever experienced at any hotel we have ever stayed in.The food was excellent as was the organisation of the bands,we have already booked for next year.Ian the manager always had a smile on his face as had Mo the bartender,Saffi the waitress andYvonne.All in all a most enjoyable weekend.

Booked for a night awaiting crossing from Cairnryan to Larne. Vast building and immense room overlooking the water and the old ferry port. Free access to the swimming pool and spa/hot tub. Excellent breakfast. Convenient for Cairnryan port.

The hotel provided our venue for our charity AGM and dinner. It was outstandingly good. Every request was met and the dinner service in particular was excellent. Over 100 people at the AGM and dinner and it went without a hitch. Food very good too. Many of us stayed there and I had a very large room with a very comfortable bed. Lovely staff too. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Booked a meal with 5 family members, two of which were staying in the hotel. Stopped for a drink in the Ross bar. Very nice and quiet after a afternoon at the Oyster Festival. We were well looked after by Mo behind the bar. When we ordered our meals some of the party asked if they could have chips instead of potatoes. The meals we had were enjoyable but we were astonished when the bill arrived and we had been charged over £10 extra for the chips. We asked why we were charged for the chips even though we didn't have the potatoes but didn't really get a clear answer. I think that the amount we spent on the meals plus wine it was a bit mean to charge for the chips. Not really good customer service. We all went to Wildings at Maidens the next day and the meal came with potatoes, veg and chips at no extra charge. Why couldn't the North West Castle do the same.
