We all have different needs and preferences so I can only speak for myself when I say that this was the perfect BnB. Certainly in its price category. If you’re happy to spend £250 I’m sure you’d find somewhere even better but if you’re looking for good value, comfort, cleanliness, a helpful host and a perfect breakfast, this place would be hard to beat. If you want raucous nightlife or a selection of local gastropubs then Kirkcolm may not fit the bill but if you value a quiet village with lovely coastal/woodland walks, here’s the place! Stranraer is only 2 or 3 miles up the road, just a few mins drive. Jo is a splendid host and serves a wonderful breakfast. Recommended.

Sam and Jo were beyond great hosts. They really saved us in a pinch. I will forever be thankful for their kindness. Their place is clean, comfy, and in a cute little town. Sam left us cookies, brought us milk and water, and helped in any way she could to make our stay perfect. I went outside to smoke in the middle of the night and had no fears.

Stayed for one night as going to the oyster festival, they were so helpful from booking to leaving , they booked us a table at local pub for dinner and recommended taxi / buses to use , we had a very warm welcome . Very cosy immaculate and comfortable room Loverly breakfast . Will definitely book again when in area . Thank you so much for your hospitality

Fully agree with all the reviews. The best guest house I have stayed in. Jo was fantastic - really friendly and welcoming. The room was superb, very well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. This is such a beautiful guest house. We travelled as a family of four, kids are aged 11 and 8, for one night before catching the ferry from Stranraer to Belfast. It was the perfect place for a stop over. It’s only a 20-30 minute drive round to the ferry the, halfway round you pass through Stranraer which has a few options for food. Jo helped us find somewhere to eat and with that we walked up to the local pub for a drink and then to the Craignelder for dinner before settling down for the night. Jo was very helpful and welcoming, the rooms were so clean, tidy and well furnished. The homemade cookies were the perfect addition! Breakfast the following morning was perfect. There is a wide range of choice, something to suit everyone, and it was beautifully cooked. We plan on making this trip more regular and so we won’t hesitate to book this guest house again! The little bird that sits in the window on landing was a funny addition and made my little girls day!

Fantastic B&B best I have stayed in with the most friendly and helpful hosts, excellent information and communication from the minute my booking was made, we arrived late at night and everything was all set out with total ease of access, the guest house itself is immaculate cozy and very comfy, shower was perfect for an early morning wake up… Thank you Jo and Sam
