Very nice comfortable facilities located directly above a few fantastic restaurants. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate requests. Very central location to this lovely town. Rooms are smaller as it’s an older building, but are very contemporary and clean.

All staff were very pleasant. Our room was very clean and the food in one of the 2 best restaurants in town, excellent. Only a one night stay but we were provided all we could need. Lovely evening walk along the marina. I would definitely stay again/recommend.

Visited the islands for 7 days and this was our last night, staying somewhere different each night. Sadly The Royal Hotel was the poorest accommodation we use, there are far better options throughout the islands. We were given room 11, run if you are offered this room, I have never stayed anywhere before that it was better to leave the curtain close at all times, even during the day. Overall the cost paid for the quality of room was excessive and just an indication of an hotel trying to squeeze every penny from their customers. I would suggest anything over £150/night for the double standard room means you should look elsewhere.

After a 5 day hike it was a pleasure to stay in this lovely spotless hotel. The room was large and overlooking the castle. The bed was very comfortable. We had dinner in the BoatHouse, excellent langoustines. Coffee was good. And the staff were extremely pleasant. A great stay.

Everything was lovely about this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable. The food was excellent especially in the Boat Shed restaurant, but also at breakfast and in the more casual restaurant. It is also in a great location.

Ideal Clean, comfortable room with ample hanging and shelf space. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ate in the restaurant where the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. I'll definitely aim to stay here again.

our hotel room was in need of care taking - wallpaper peeling at its corners, paint scuffed off on a radiator, windows weather-worn and discolored.

Great location close to Castle, Harbor, Shops & Pubs Very friendly & helpful staff. 5/5 Restaurant & Bistro both have great food and good service… both popular with the locals.5/5 Our room (large but basic) on the 2nd floor had a harbor view and access to the small parking lot in the rear. There is no elevator. Certainly a great place to stay in Stornoway. Plan a drive to Harris to see the spectacular scenery and amazing beaches

Double room was clean and comfortable , beautiful refurbished bathroom , nice and warm on my arrival. All staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly and were a real credit to the hotel and the island. Food in the cafe restaurant , Mussels and Pasta was excellent excellent , the Hebridean hot breakfast was hot , tasty and well presented .
