Beautiful hotel with a nice quiet atmosphere, the bar was beautiful with a nice reading area, the staff we had were so friendly, dinner isn't served during this time, but we were nicely directed to their sister hotel which wasn't a bother at all! The staff were very accommodating and we loved having a little chat with them and leaning a bit more about the hotel! The bed was super comfortable and the room was spotless. Beautiful view from the room too. Breakfast was a lovely buffet style which the lady was so friendly and kind! Very easy to find and perfect for couples who want a quiet get away with a romantic style, ill definitely be back!

Stayed a couple of nights last week. On arrival met by Adrian who was very helpful. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely as were the staff serving it. All in all we had a great stay and hopefully will return sometime soon. Nigel.

We stayed for a night in the pink room. We had a great stay. staff especially the young manager she was very welcoming and nothing was too much bother. Hotel and surroundings were lovely. Food was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast. Would highly recommend. The only issue we had was we were directly above the kitchen and when in the bathroom you could really smell the food and it does linger for hours later. if staying longer than a night I would consider another room. Overall, a great place to stay and if in the area again I would definitely rebook. Thank you.

Sadly the pictures are alot better than reality. Our room had not been hoovered and cobwebs on ceiling, large amounts of staining under one of the windows. There were no curtains in our bedroom, just off white blinds, when you pull them down these are badly marked. On the tea tray there is a refillable bottle of water for the kettle as you are unable to fill the kettle with the sink in the toilet, water didn't look fresh, also packet of biscuits on tray was opened and a biscuit out of it. Due to these issues and a mix up with beds we were offered a complimentary drink. The lock on the door was extremely difficult to use and the man on reception said he would need to get maintenance to look at it, which didn't happen during our stay. Heating is centrally controlled, yes there is an electric heater in the room, but isn't ideal as also looked very dusty and old. We went out for dinner and arrived back at 9pm to total darkness (this was a Saturday night) The car park has 2 very small lights attached to the building which don't give off much light., therefor we had to use the torches on our phone to see where we were going. There is no night porter and the front door was not locked, we were going to go to the bar for our complimentary drink, but not to be as no staff left in the building and all lights were out. Upon checking out, I asked when the bar usually shuts and was told about 10pm, woman didn't say anything when I said everything was in complete darkness by 9pm, although could be heard asking another member of staff when she had finished the night before! For some reason it won't let me upload photos I have taken.

We had a pleasant one night stay in one of their suites located around back (but up above) the main building. Our room was spacious with good facilities and both of us slept really well. Whilst the room was clean and well made, I do understand some of the other customers comments regarding general wear and tear. The building/business is obviously well taken care of, but some of the interior is worn with age and could do with deep cleaning/replacing. Breakfast was time slot only, (fortunately we had a time that worked for us) probably due to the size of the kitchen/staffing? Hot food was portioned and served directly from the kitchen, but cereals and fruits were available buffet styled. Friendly staff upon check in/breakfast but you could tell they were working hard and couldn't take the time to chat properly. Overall a charming stay, beautiful grounds.

We originally booked a family room (two joining rooms 1 w/Q bed, 1 w/2 singles) as there were 3 of us travelling (couple & SIL). We were upgraded to The Royal Blue room, their largest suite. SIL was placed in The Bay Front. Rooms were well appointed with everything we needed. Beds comfortable, large windows, seating area, separate walk in shower. After dropping luggage attended the bar for a few beverages. A nice cozy bar area, full of all things Scottish. Felt right at home sipping beverages. There is another quiet room to read a book or listen to music. The dining room (where we had breakfast) off to the side of that room. Maggie was the duty manager and most helpful and informative. She was the perfect host. Could not believe our good fortune booking this hidden gem. Very quiet and enjoyable.

+ The staff were very friendly It includes breakfast as standard The alpaca's outside in the large gardens were great to look at A place for children to play outside The car park was just big enough to accommodate all guests The bar room has an exceptional collection of books - The Torrs Warren is in serious need of renovation. "The Wee Room" was far from clean; dust covered the wardrobe, radiator, bedside cabinet, and lights, indicating it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The shower had hairs left from a previous guest. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and clearly needs replacing. The bathroom's basin is awkwardly positioned right above the toilet, which feels unhygienic. Additionally, the door creaks badly and get's stuck and is difficult to lock and unlock—it could definitely use a full can of WD-40. Also the windows were bolted shut so you couldn't get any fresh air at all and with the amount of dust in the room, this could cause a serious issue for those with allergies/medical conditions. They had all rooms booked for the night so couldn't seek an alternative.

This hotel is a true gem. We stayed one night before catching the morning ferry from nearby Cairnryan. We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff and shown to our rooms by them. We ate in the restaurant and were presented with an extensive menu with a wide variety of dishes. The food was first class and plentiful and the service was spot on. The bedrooms were immaculately clean and the beds very comfortable. This is a perfect base for touring the Solway area. I will certainly be back.
