The environment is average, a very shabby cabin, but the good thing is that the breakfast is very good👍

We visited the moon inn with my family and what an amazing experience we had. We have been previously and it has never disappointed. The new small plates are a great addition to the menu and went down a treat. The pie was excellent, along with the rest of the food we had. The staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to eat at a family ran pub with home made food. The new dart board is also a great addition to the pub, which me and family loved.

Stopped for 2 nights for my birthday. Staff were very friendly & hard working. Food was excellent can thoroughly recommend the delicious Moon Inn steak pie, it was awesome. The atmosphere was very good like a typical british pub. The pub itself has and is being refurbished, the outside was being painted as we left. Our room, the Lennon siute, was comfortable and reasonably spacious. I was even treated to a free surprise birthday cake on my second night of dining from the management, which was very welcome indeed. My wife and I would definetly recommend the Inn and would certainly return in the future.

Stayed here for three nights and it was more than adequate for our needs. The room although a little dated was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really lovely and more than enough, if you want more I'm sure you could

Very disappointed with this stay. The pub entrances were unkempt & scruffy. There was an old mattress propped up on a wall in the garden. Old broken tables & chairs stacked in a pile in a corner of the garden that they didn’t suggest we went into “because the dogs had been in there”. There were weeds, dead plants & hanging baskets on the way to rooms. The dead tree, full of cigarette butts was particularly unattractive by the entrance as was the peeling, neglected paint work. I have nothing positive to say about my stay & would recommend it to anyone.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, good pub grub, and hearty breakfasts. Perfect location for beautiful walks, with easy access to Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock. Highly recommended. Josh and team, you are doing a brilliant job, and thank you for the rhubarb!

One week ago my husband and I stayed for two nights in the Nook bedroom for bed and breakfast. Josh helped us to the room and we approved it. Coming out of the room is a metre square area then a step down at right angles. As I came out of the room I fell headlong down the step and banged on the wall. The overhead light was very dim and even though Josh said that he would replace it, it was the same when we left. Consequently I have pulled a muscle in my back which is still extremely painful. The journey to the room was by external stairs, then a path round to two dangerous steps down with no handrail to the entrance to the bedrooms. For the dinner the first evening I chose lasagne which was inedible so we refused to pay for it. The scampi and chips were ok. The one special choice was not available nor the meat pie on the Friday. The breakfasts were satisfactory but orange juice and yogurt would have been an extra treat. As we left I asked the waitress it my accident (which had been reported)had been put in the accident book and she said that she would check. The small and uneven car park needed resurfacing and was congested with cars when we arrived but Josh was willing to move his car to accommodate us. All in all it was a very disappointing and painful two days for a birthday treat.
