Cleanliness: Rooms and bathrooms were frequently described as "clean," "well-kept," and "tidy," with some noting "comfortable beds" and "good ventilation."

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable although the temperature control and no open windows meant it got hot during the night and we couldn't do anything about it. Decent breakfast at the Brewer's Fayre next door. The cost was the frustrating part. It was too expensive for a basic stay.

Clean and tidy. Easy to get too. Big enough for a family of 4. Comfortable beds. Parking available. Would definitely recommend

A very warm friendly welcome from the moment we arrived, continuing throughout our stay! Very impressed with the level of cleanliness in the room. As a NHS housekeeper myself it met my standards ...... and believe me I looked for hidden dust or dirt yet there was none! The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well on both nights. The free wi-fi was good! It did drop slightly at times however it was free so I'm not complaining! The real bonus for the time of our stay was the air conditioning. It was close to 30 degrees and yet the room stayed nicely cool which made huge difference in getting a good sleep! Overall, would definitely recommend!

Having stayed here before we booked again to stay for a visit to Alton Towers, myself, my sister and our 5 children in 2 rooms. Our rooms were on separate floors and unfortunately the room on the ground floor was damp. We didn’t notice at first as it was covered up by clean bedding but on returning to our room we found that everything felt damp to touch right down to the mattress. Initially reception were very unhelpful saying they were fully booked and couldn’t move us and also didn’t have any spare beds to allow us to all sleep in 1 room. Eventually because we insisted we couldn’t sleep in there they moved us to another ground floor room which they said was “off”. This room also seemed fine at first but later started to smell damp. We won’t return to this hotel.

Very dirty floors and extremely tired looking establishment. The Food : Meals ordered by my wife and I were nothing like the menu offering. My wife left her meal after a couple of bites as it was spicy when the menu made no mention of this. The 'salad' she ordered with the meal was hardly a salad and was full of sliced and extremely bitter lettuce/cabbage heart. I opted for a 'Crispy Coated Spicy Korean Chicken Breast with an Asian Cole Slaw Crunch'. The Spicy Korean Chicken Breast was wholly un-spiced, the Asian Coleslaw Crunch consisted of nothing more than coleslaw without the mayonnaise. The 5p-sized red stain on the burger bun looked like in had been touched by a blooded finger. It was too small to be tasted or described as a sauce. I am still awaiting the arrival of the gherkin. The side of coleslaw never arrived ("All of our burgers are served ... with skin-on chips and coleslaw unless otherwise stated") while the skin-on chips were riddled with black 'eyes' and growth roots. The furniture was very worn, very dirty, stick and sprinkled with salt and pepper from the previous user, I would guess. I took multiple attempts to find cutlery which was not dirty and/or covered in fingerprints. The pages of the menu were stuck together and had to be torn apart.

Stayed here numerous times over the years & can’t fault it at all. Rooms have always been fine & very spacious. Ideal location for us. Brewers Fayre attached to hotel. Food great, plenty of choice at Breakfast. We tend to eat out of an evening either at Toby’s on the canal or the Polite Vicar.

Rosie was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Really nice to see a smiling face each evening. Made my trip a lot more pleasant.
